The playoffs kicked off on Friday night and we already had some wild results from first round action. Every Sunday this season, we've been recapping the week that was by putting the spotlight on the top performers from across the state. This week, we're featuring 25 (actually more like 36) different players for what they were able to accomplish on Friday night.

Anthony Clay - Junior Quarterback - Idabel

Idabel junior quarterback Anthony Clay had the best game of his junior season as the Warriors beat Claremore Sequoyah 39-21. Clay threw for just over 300 yards and four touchdowns on 13-16 passing. Coming into the playoffs, Clay hadn't thrown for more than 200 yards in a game but this week, he eclipsed over 300 yards. Idabel will now shift their focus to the quarterfinals, where they'll go on the road to face Sulphur. If Clay and the Idabel offense can continue to roll, they could pull the upset.

[player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] - Senior Running Back - Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall rolled to a 43-20 victory over Seminole on Friday night. The Chargers were once again led by their senior running back. [player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] finished the night with nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in the victory. Travis came into the playoffs as one of the top players to watch in the Class 3A playoffs and he certainly lived up to the hype in their first round victory. Heritage Hall will now move on to face Holland Hall in the quarterfinals on Friday night at home.

[player_tooltip player_id='205531' first='Boston' last='Carrasco'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Union

If you look at Union's offense over the last month, you'll find a unit that is really starting to hit their stride and that showed in their 38-21 win over Mustang Friday night. We could have picked a couple players off the Union offense to give the nod to here but we're going with senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='205531' first='Boston' last='Carrasco'] after he totaled nearly 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just four catches. He had a fifth catch that went for a score but was called back. Carrasco and the Redhawks face rival Jenks in the quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='215570' first='Brady' last='Mcadoo'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Tuttle

It feels like Tuttle senior [player_tooltip player_id='215570' first='Brady' last='Mcadoo'] has been on this breakdown every week since the season began. We've said it a few times but there are few players in Oklahoma that are playing better football this season than McAdoo. The Tuttle senior helped lead the Tigers to a 34-6 victory over Elk City on Friday night, finishing with just over 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also had nine tackles and was effective as a punter. McAdoo and the Tigers now shift their focus to hosting Hilldale in the quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='382955' first='Brady' last='Scott'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Hilldale

Hilldale went on the road and took down Miami 21-9 on Friday night and junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='382955' first='Brady' last='Scott'] was once again the guy to watch for this Hornet team. Simply put, we love what Scott has been able to do this season as an overall playmaker on offense and this week, he turned into a ball hawk on the defensive side of the ball. Scott had two interceptions on defense, caught a touchdown and totaled nearly 100 yards of offense. But Hilldale will need Scott to bring it again this week against unbeaten Tuttle.

[player_tooltip player_id='911940' first='Brock' last='Boyles'] - Junior Quarterback - Ada

There might not have been a better individual performance in the first round than what we saw from Ada junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='911940' first='Brock' last='Boyles'] in their 53-50 win over Cushing on Friday night. Boyles would throw for well over 550 yards and six touchdowns on an eye-popping 39-60 passing performance. Boyles had not one, but two different receivers finish with over 200 yards in the win. If you like offense, this was the game for you. Ada now moves on to the quarterfinals and will host Bethany on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1101281' first='Carter' last='Ricke'] - Junior Quarterback - Lincoln Christian

Lincoln Christian junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1101281' first='Carter' last='Ricke'] had a borderline perfect game as the Bulldogs beat up on Jay Friday night. They rolled to a 62-8 victory over Jay at home and Ricke would finish the night with just over 250 yards and six touchdowns on 14-15 passing. This isn't the first time that Ricke has had a game like that this season. He's had a few games where he's only had one incompletion. The completion percentage is incredibly high. They'll now host Pauls Valley in the quarterfinals Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] - Sophomore Wide Receiver - Salina

Salina went on the road and took down Henryetta with a 26-12 victory on Friday night. If you haven't heard the name [player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] than you better get used to it because when he's healthy, he's one of the best playmakers in Class 2A-2 and it showed again Friday night. Hooker finished the night with over 100 yards and two touchdowns on six catches. He also had a 78-yard punt return for his third score of the night. Salina will need more of that as they go on the road to face undefeated Stroud Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] - Freshman Quarterback - Washington

Defending champion Washington collected their 41st consecutive victory as they began their pursuit of the three-peat. They beat Perry 42-0 and freshman quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] accounted for all six of Washington's touchdowns in the win. Barrett threw for nearly 300 yards and five touchdowns on just 9-17 passing. He also added a touchdown on the ground as the Warriors continue to look like the favorites in Class 2A-1. Barrett and the Warriors now move on to host Kiefer in the quarterfinal round.

[player_tooltip player_id='1322393' first='Dray' last='Long'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Woodland

Top-ranked Woodland remained undefeated on the season with a 48-14 victory over Gore on Friday night. The Cougars had another game that was mostly decided by halftime but senior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1322393' first='Dray' last='Long'] had a very busy night before being pulled in the second half. Long finished with nearly 150 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries. He also had a receiving touchdown and seven tackles on defense. Woodland now looks to remain unbeaten when they host Konawa on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1473214' first='Ja' last='Posey'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Pocola

More people around the state need to start looking at what Pocola sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1473214' first='Ja' last='Posey'] is doing this season. Pocola rolled to a 52-14 win over Tonkawa and Posey once again had a big night throwing the ball. Posey threw for just over 350 yards and three touchdowns on 24-35 passing. That was his seventh game this season with at least 300 yards passing and he has two other games with 500+ yards. Pocola will hope that passing game travels the 450 miles to Hooker on Friday night.

Jayden Bolton - Junior Running Back - Cashion

Cashion went on the road and took down Walters with a 42-14 victory as they moved on to the quarterfinal round. The Wildcats have a young offense full of guys that we like moving forward. Junior running back Jayden Bolton was the star in the win Friday. He finished with just over 200 yards and five touchdowns on 12 carries. Bolton and the Wildcats are playing really good football and will look to continue that this week on the road against a Pawnee team that is in a similar position, playing really good football at the best time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1293008' first='Jayden' last='Ellen'] - Junior Running Back/Linebacker - Checotah

Checotah went on the road and pulled off one of the biggest wins of the first round. They beat district champion Cascia Hall 35-28 and now they have a path to make it to the 3A semifinals or even further. Junior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1293008' first='Jayden' last='Ellen'] got the momentum started by getting a pick six in the first 30 seconds of the game. He would finish the night with 132 yards on the ground but it was that interception return that set the tone for the big win. They go on the road to face Bristow on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1550002' first='Jayden' last='Fuston'] - Senior Running Back - Piedmont

Piedmont's 48-7 win over Ponca City was their first playoff game as a member of Class 6A-2. A 1-0 record isn't bad and the Wildcats were once again very balanced on the offensive side of the ball. But senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1550002' first='Jayden' last='Fuston'] continued his stellar senior campaign with nearly 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Fuston has been solid all season and now the Wildcats will hit the road for a quarterfinal game with Sand Springs and that's a match-up that will definitely be a clash of styles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1187311' first='Jon' last='Grimmett'] - Senior Tight End/Defensive Lineman - Pauls Valley

Pauls Valley was one of several teams that had late game heroics that helped them move on to the next round. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1187311' first='Jon' last='Grimmett'] played a big role as the Panthers knocked off Perkins-Tryon on the road with a 20-17 victory in overtime. Grimmett finished the night with two touchdowns and the last one came on fourth down in overtime. The Panthers were either going to win or lose and Grimmett made the play and sent Pauls Valley into the quarterfinals, where they will face top-ranked Lincoln Christian.

[player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] - Senior Quarterback/Linebacker - Wagoner

Wagoner exploded in the second quarter in their 49-21 win over Poteau Friday night. This game was close on the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter but the Bulldogs flipped the switch and put Poteau down by halftime. Senior quarterback and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] continued his outstanding senior season with his arm and his legs. He finished the night with a little over 300 yards and accounted for five touchdowns in the win. Wagoner hosts traditional power Clinton in the quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1340786' first='Kolten' last='Carlock'] - Senior Quarterback - Guthrie

Guthrie rolled to a 43-21 victory over Lawton MacArthur and this was a game that was close halfway through the second quarter. It was tied at 14 but the Blue Jays would get a burst going into halftime and they were in control from there. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1340786' first='Kolten' last='Carlock'] continues to be one of the better athletes at the quarterback position in Class 5A. Carlock would finish the night with nearly 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Guthrie will now travel to Tulsa to face Booker T Washington.

[player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Talihina

We don't know how, but Talihina sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] still might be the best kept secret in Oklahoma. Griffith is a dual-threat machine with the numbers he's put up in the pass game and run game this season and he was at it again in a 30-20 win over Barnsdall. Griffith threw for over 250 yards and two touchdowns on 19-24 passing. He also had over 150 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Griffith's season stats are absolutely nuts and now Talihina will host Texhoma on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='402380' first='Lemar' last='Davis'] - Junior Running Back - Deer Creek

In their first ever playoff appearance in Class 6A-1, Deer Creek took down the state's largest school in Broken Arrow, beating the Tigers 21-19. The Antlers have been incredibly balanced all season and this was another instance of just that. But junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='402380' first='Lemar' last='Davis'] had a solid night, finishing with a little over 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. Davis has been a big boost to the Deer Creek offense and the Antlers now get ready to go on the road to face top-ranked Owasso on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1717571' first='Levi' last='Jensen'] - Junior Running Back - Sapulpa

Friday night will be a night the Sapulpa Chieftains remember for a while after they beat Lawton Eisenhower 46-31. That was their first playoff win in nearly two decades and junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1717571' first='Levi' last='Jensen'] had some of the biggest moments in the win. Jensen finished with well over 200 yards on the ground and a pair of touchdowns but those touchdowns gave him the bulk of his yardage. Both scores went for over 70 yards as the Chieftains pulled away from the Eagles and now get ready to face Choctaw.

[player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] - Senior Quarterback - Norman North

Norman North senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] has been one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the state this season and he's doing it at the highest level in Class 6A-1. Eshelman helped lead the Timberwolves to a 30-19 win over Moore in the first round on Saturday afternoon. He threw for just over 150 yards and two touchdowns and he also added nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Eshelman and the Timberwolves now turn their attention to a quarterfinal showdown with defending champ Bixby.

[player_tooltip player_id='1719591' first='Roman' last='Tucker'] - Junior Quarterback - Cushing

We don't usually have players on this breakdown that came up short on the scoreboard but with this one, it wasn't for a lack of trying. Cushing came up short to Ada, losing 53-50 but junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1719591' first='Roman' last='Tucker'] could not be stopped at any point in the game. Tucker would throw for 375 yards and five touchdowns. He also added well over 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Cushing's season came to an end but they have to be excited about having a player like Tucker coming back in 2025.

Sulphur Defense - All Of 'Em

It's not very often that we just put an entire unit or in this case, side of the ball, on this weekly breakdown but sometimes you have to bend your own rules. Sulphur's defense was absolutely dominant in their first round win over Kingfisher. The Bulldogs shut Kingfisher out and the defense gave up just 67 yards on the night. Sulphur's defense also got in on the scoring act, taking two interceptions and one fumble back for a score. They move on to host Idabel in the quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1325101' first='Vann' last='Wildcat'] - Sophomore Running Back/Linebacker - Pawhuska

Pawhuska rolled to a 44-7 victory over Hartshorne on Friday night. They were once again led by their sophomore two-way star in [player_tooltip player_id='1325101' first='Vann' last='Wildcat'] at the running back and linebacker positions. Offensively, Wildcat would finish with nearly 150 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Defensively, he also had 15 tackles, including four that came behind the line of scrimmage as the Huskies rolled to the win. They now get ready to hit the road in the quarterfinal round as they will travel to face Christian Heritage.

[player_tooltip player_id='901851' first='Zaedon' last='Collins'] - Senior Running Back - Clinton

Clinton made sure we would have a new Class 4A state champion after going on the road and beating Blanchard 21-20 on Friday night. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='901851' first='Zaedon' last='Collins'] has been a player that we've talked about quite a bit over the last two seasons and he helped carry the Red Tornadoes to the big win on the road. And we're talking about carrying Clinton, that's literally what he did, finishing with over 30 carries and over 200 yards. He also accounted for all three Clinton touchdowns. They now travel to face Wagoner in the quarterfinals.
