is going into his third season as QB1 of the Cougars and is looking to lead Ada to championship #20 this year. Boyles made a big step from his sophomore to junior season. He went from throwing nearly 200 passes as a sophomore to over 300 passes as a junior. Boyles has thrown for nearly 5,000 yards and 52 touchdowns in the last two seasons. Needless to say, he has a lot of momentum going right now as we get closer to the start of this season. If Boyles can avoid the turnover bug, he certainly has the ability to take this team to the next level. He checks a lot of the boxes from a pure passer standpoint and could be primed for a monster 2025 season.

led a balanced Cougar offense last season in his first full season as QB1. We had high expectations around this time last year for Boyles heading into the 2023 season and he definitely met them. He threw for just over 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns on the season. Boyles has the potential to see that production absolutely explode this fall. With ten starters back on the offensive side of the ball, Boyles and company should be able to pick up where they left off in 2023 and take their games to new heights this season. And Boyles also benefits from having his top two wide receivers back and an outstanding offensive line unit blocking for him up front.

but he’s going into a game against a Wagoner defense that has multiple players that will be playing college football. Boyles was calm, cool and collected last week when he led the Cougars to a big road win over Clinton in the quarterfinal round. He’ll look to keep that composure this week as he faces a Wagoner defense that has done a good job this season against quarterbacks who can sling it. Boyles had an efficient night last week but he finished the game with less than ten pass attempts. That number will go up on Friday.

The biggest question mark around this Ada team is the offensive side of the ball and the new faces at the skill positions. They have to replace Freeland at quarterback but 2026 signal caller

got quite a bit of playing time last season so he’s not going to be brand new to the varsity level. Boyles is going to have some growing pains as new names have to emerge at the wide receiver position. The Cougars lose their top three wide receivers so that is a lot of production that they’ll need to replace. We’re interested to see how Boyles looks this season if he is indeed the quarterback for the Cougars. Because he’s going to have a stout defense supporting him and a strong offensive line in front of him. The pieces could eventually come together.
