Senior offensive lineman and Memphis commit Dawson Matthews Dawson Matthews 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Ada | 2026 State OK will come into this season as one of the most experienced players in Class 4A. Matthews has been a name that we’ve known about since his freshman season. He’s been a dominant offensive lineman since then and has just continued to get better and better. And Ada certainly has the chance to be very explosive on the offensive side of the ball but all those skill players can’t do anything without a strong offensive line. And when you’re talking about Ada on the line of scrimmage, the conversation starts with Matthews. He earned All State 3rd Team honors last season and comes into this year as one of the very best at the position.

Ada offensive lineman Dawson Matthews Dawson Matthews 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Ada | 2026 State OK is another prospect in this class that we’ve known about for a while now and the opinion has never shifted on him. Matthews has routinely been a top five guy at his position and has routinely been in the top 20 or top 30 for overall prospects. And there’s a big reason behind that and it’s consistency. Matthews has been incredibly consistent and he’s a steady presence on the Ada offensive line. Matthews has a terrific skillset at the offensive line position and that is a big reason he’s been able to be so consistent. He’s also gotten bigger and when you combine that with his ability to outwork almost every guy he goes against, that’s a combination that makes him one of the better guys at his position.

Ada offensive lineman Dawson Matthews Dawson Matthews 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Ada | 2026 State OK is in a similar boat to Kolone at Stillwater where both are knocking on the door of being top ten overall guys. Matthews has been a pretty consistent force for Ada on the line of scrimmage and what’s impressive is he’s been able to do that since his freshman season. Even as a freshman, Matthews was competing at a very high level and having success against some really talented defensive linemen. In the last 12 months, Matthews has seen his recruitment really start to take off and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Look for Matthews to have a very busy offseason coming up as he continues to grow and improve from a physical standpoint and on the field.

Ada junior offensive lineman Dawson Matthews Dawson Matthews 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Ada | 2026 State OK has been on our radar since the end of his freshman season. Matthews started and had a significant impact for the Cougars as a freshman during the 2022 season. Last year, Matthews elevated his game again and anchored an offensive line that paved the way for a balanced and strong offense. Matthews is one of a handful of Ada prospects that hold D1 offers and with him just now entering his junior season, he still has a lot of opportunities ahead of him. He continues to get better and better every time he’s on the field. We expect him to make another jump this season as he helps to lead the Cougars.

Ada offensive lineman Dawson Matthews Dawson Matthews 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Ada | 2026 State OK is the first of several prospects on this breakdown that have been standouts since their freshman year. Matthews got our attention when he was a freshman and having a lot of success against some of the best defenders in the state’s 2026 class. Matthews didn’t look like a freshman then and his game has only improved from there. The Ada standout has also seen his recruitment start to really take off over the last six months. Matthews continues to climb the charts and he’s now firmly a top 20 overall prospect and he’s flirting with that top spot at the offensive line position. We’re fired up to see what improvement he makes from 2023 to 2024.

Ada offensive lineman Dawson Matthews Dawson Matthews 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Ada | 2026 State OK moved up 27 spots and into the top 20 on this last update. He also landed at the #2 spot for offensive linemen in this class. Matthews has all the tools to be a very successful offensive lineman and there’s certainly a bright future there already. As Matthews continues to grow, he’s going to become even more dominant. He’s had success at the tackle position in the past. It will be interesting to see what the natural position becomes for Matthews at the next level. Similar to Kester, who is the #1 OL in this class, Matthews possesses the ability to absolutely maul his opponent. The Ada product is also seeing his recruitment start to take off.

One of those strong returning offensive linemen that is going to be protecting Boyles is a fellow 2026 prospect in Dawson Matthews Dawson Matthews 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Ada | 2026 State OK and he seems to have a very bright future ahead of him. We were first alerted to Matthews early on in the offseason. Matthews not only saw meaningful time as a freshman, he had a significant impact in certain match-ups against other prospects in the state’s 2026 class that have already had their recruitment take off. Matthews is an excellent blocker and it seems like he has a very high ceiling. He’s by no means a finished product but he has to go into his sophomore season with a wealth of confidence after stepping up to the varsity level last year and having a ton of success. We think that Matthews is only going to get better moving forward.
