Earlier this week, we broke down some of those top games. We also put out a practice report on Bixby before their road trip to face Choctaw and had an in-depth breakdown on the battle between Carl Albert and Stillwater. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day throughout the season for new content!

[player_tooltip player_id='571111' first='Cameron' last='Carter'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Millwood

Millwood has a week three showdown with 3A powerhouse Heritage Hall and the Falcons will lean on senior [player_tooltip player_id='571111' first='Cameron' last='Carter'] to get a massive win before district play begins next week. Carter first emerged as one of the better linebackers in the state's 2025 class during his sophomore season. Last year, we saw Carter continue to dominate on the defensive side of the ball and then he added some reps on offense at the running back position. This season, Carter is even more of a force on the offensive side of the ball and he had a solid performance in the Soul Bowl last week against Douglass. Carter will look to continue that as Millwood looks to snap a five game skid to Heritage Hall.

[player_tooltip player_id='211555' first='Cash' last='Williams'] - Senior Quarterback - Choctaw

On Friday night, Choctaw continues their gauntlet of a non-district schedule when they host Bixby. After facing the Kansas state champion on the road last week, they'll host the two-time 6A-1 champ in Bixby this week. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211555' first='Cash' last='Williams'] will look to put a dent in the Bixby defense and not many teams have very much success in that department. But Williams is a true dual-threat signal caller that is just as dangerous in the ground game as he is in the passing game. Last week, the Yellowjackets would play both of their quarterbacks but we're putting the spotlight on the senior year. If Williams the Yellowjackets pull the upset, they'll take a ton of momentum into district play.

[player_tooltip player_id='353421' first='CJ' last='Nickson'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive End - Weatherford

In one of the more underrated games of week three, we'll see a top five team in Class 4A with Weatherford going on the road to face a top five team in Class 3A in Pauls Valley. There are multiple D1 commits in this match-up but we're putting the spotlight on Weatherford's [player_tooltip player_id='353421' first='CJ' last='Nickson'] with the impact he can have on both sides of the ball. Simply put, Nickson is one of the best athletes in Oklahoma's 2025 class. He's also one of the best overall basketball prospects in the state's 2025 class. Weatherford has jumped out to a 2-0 start and they look like a team that could threaten in a very loaded Class 4A. Friday's game will tell us a lot because Pauls Valley is incredibly talented.

[player_tooltip player_id='1100200' first='Coric' last='Pierce'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Blanchard

Defending 4A champion will host a tough Guthrie team on Friday night and this is their second straight game against a tough 5A opponent. Last week, they needed to rally to beat Newcastle and senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1100200' first='Coric' last='Pierce'] ended up being the hero in that game. Pierce would catch the game-winning touchdown with a little over a minute left to play to win 14-10. Pierce was also one of the top players in Blanchard's state championship win over Wagoner back in December. Needless to say, in Blanchard's biggest games, Pierce has come up big. We'd be surprised this week if there wasn't another close game coming and Pierce might have to make that clutch play again late against Guthrie.

[player_tooltip player_id='917724' first='Darien' last='Dansby'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Bristow

Bristow bounced back from a week one loss to Cushing by beating up on Berryhill last week. Senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='917724' first='Darien' last='Dansby'] was dominant in their week two victory. He finished with over 150 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. The Pirates are now 1-1 but they have a brutal week three contest to wrap up non-district play. They'll host 4A powerhouse Wagoner on Friday night and the Bulldogs have been absolutely dominant so far this season. And when you look at this match-up, this is one area that we'll be looking at. Dansby and the Bristow rushing attack going against Wagoner and their very talented front seven. The Bristow senior running back is off to a good start.

[player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] - Junior Quarterback - Sand Springs

We knew coming into this season that Sand Springs was going to be battle-tested with their non-district slate. They've lost to Bixby and Owasso and now go on the road to face another 0-2 team hungry for a win in Bishop Kelley. Despite the 0-2 start, we still think that the Sandites are one of the top teams in Class 6A-2. Most 6A-2 teams would be 0-2 against those two teams. We're very excited to see junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] this week as the Sandites look to bounce back in a major way. Webb has been one of the top quarterbacks in his class for a while now. Even though he's been committed to Oklahoma State for baseball since he was a freshman, we still like him on the gridiron.

[player_tooltip player_id='1340786' first='Kolten' last='Carlock'] - Senior Quarterback - Guthrie

Guthrie bounced back last week from a week zero loss to Tuttle by dominating Duncan in week two. Now, they shift their attention to another Class 4A contender as they hit the road to face defending 4A champion Blanchard. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1340786' first='Kolten' last='Carlock'] had a really strong showing in the win over Duncan and we're looking forward to seeing what he can do this week. Carlock is new to the Guthrie program and stepped into a Blue Jay offense that needed new playmakers to emerge. The Blue Jays are only two games into their 2024 slate but Carlock looks like that playmaker. In addition to quarterback duties, Carlock also returns kicks and plays defense in the secondary.

[player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] - Junior Athlete - Vian

In one of the better small school match-ups, we'll see 2A-2's top-ranked Vian going on the road to face Pocola, who's a top five team in A-1 right now. The Wolverines have looked dominant so far this season and it should be no surprise that junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] is a big reason behind that. Wright is one of the best players in 2A-2 football and we can definitely see him leading this team to a state championship this season. But it's still September so we're a long way away from talking gold balls. Wright is incredibly dynamic but is going against a Pocola team that is not lacking talent on the defensive side of the ball. Wright is on the right side of this match-up as Vian has dominated Pocola historically.

[player_tooltip player_id='211962' first='Phoenix' last='Murphy'] - Senior Quarterback - Norman

There are few quarterbacks in 6A-1 that are off to better starts than [player_tooltip player_id='211962' first='Phoenix' last='Murphy'] at Norman. The senior signal caller got our attention in their season opener against Norman North. He threw for nearly 500 yards and four touchdowns in the win over their rival. Now, they will wrap up non-district play against Piedmont and this is a very unique match-up. Piedmont is a team that runs that option and they look to dominate time of possession. So Murphy might not have as many opportunities as he would in just about every other game this season. And the Piedmont defense has some talented players, specifically in the secondary. This will be a good test for Murphy and the Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] - Senior Quarterback/Defensive Back - Woodland

In one of the top match-ups in Class A, A-2's top-ranked Woodland will host A-1's #3 Pawhuska and the quarterbacks in this match-up are two outstanding players. Woodland senior [player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] comes into this week with a lot of momentum. He's coming off a week two performance where he was one of the best players in the state last week. He was nearly perfect in the passing department and when you look at this match-up on paper, it's hard to ignore how much firepower there is on the offensive side of the ball for either side. Bennett is also a threat on the defensive side of the ball at the safety position. Bennett and the Cougars look like a serious state championship contender.
