The season is less than a month away and approaching quickly! We continue our look at some of the best positional groups in the state by looking at the receiving corps that are loaded with talent. Defenses will have their hands full trying to match up with these groups, and I expect to see these teams towards the top of the list when it comes to most productive passing offenses in the state. College coaches are also going to want to focus on these groups during the season to not only know about the top seniors, but also the next wave of up and coming talent. Let's dive into each group a little further.

Kaukauna

Kaukauna is going off a great offensive season. They were well balanced and put up big points consistently. This fall they will be looking to replace their highly productive QB, but luckily for Kaukauna they should have talent for him to target downfield. Leading the way among the returning athletes is '25 WR [player_tooltip player_id='773290' first='Parker' last='Schuh'] and his 41/706/5 line. Second on the team, and returning in 2024, is [player_tooltip player_id='1227832' first='Kavanaugh' last='Weyenberg'] with 34/299/4. Joining those two this fall should be Brody McMullin and [player_tooltip player_id='700210' first='Kaden' last='Kress']. Kress will be looking for his first varsity action while Brody saw very limited action.

[player_tooltip player_id='773290' first='Parker' last='Schuh'] will be the focal point of the offense, if we had to predict. His speed will allow him the ability to get behind the defense or track down passes. He is one of the top mismatches in the state because of the speed and ball tracking ability. He will require defenses to put help over the top of him wherever he is on the field. [player_tooltip player_id='1227832' first='Kavanaugh' last='Weyenberg'] is a 5'10" 160 lbs 2026 slot receiver that is a quick and shifty route runner that leaves DBs/LBs trying to catch up out of breaks. He thrives over the middle of the field. Brody McMullin is another quick receiver who has experience in the slot. We saw him do a lot of work in the short passing game where he could do damage after the catch. Lastly, [player_tooltip player_id='700210' first='Kaden' last='Kress'] is an athlete who could join that group of three in 4 WR sets and provide depth while gaining valuable experience.

West De Pere

West De Pere is another high powered offense that will be replacing their QB following a school record breaking career of their 2023 graduate. West De Pere will have a great balance of experienced talent and raw talent ready to breakout on the varsity scene with the new QB. Leading the way is [player_tooltip player_id='942607' first='Ben' last='Lemirand'] who put up 27/591/6 in 2023. All three numbers were second on the team as a junior. Following Ben will be several athletes who have very minimal varsity experience, but plenty of talent to work with.

[player_tooltip player_id='942607' first='Ben' last='Lemirand'] is the WR1. He has elite speed to stretch the field. His hands are reliable and the incoming senior knows how to go get the ball. The big play threat averaged almost 22 yards per catch in 2023 and I expect him to be right around that big number in 2024. [player_tooltip player_id='1220669' first='Judeah' last='Kniskern'] is a physical WR. He can fight off the press of a CB or fight through contact to make difficult catches in traffic. Judeah is an athlete that a QB will love because you know he will battle for the ball while it is in the air. [player_tooltip player_id='948101' first='Aiden' last='Elinsky'] is a 2026 possession WR who also will fight to the ball to ensure the catch. A trait that QBs will put their trust in. Finally, [player_tooltip player_id='1282584' first='Landon' last='Kibbe'] is a 2027 who could be a surprise standout on varsity as an underclassman. It would be a big step up from his competition last year, but Landon easily stood out from his peers in 2023. His speed was different. His natural playmaking ability made it look easy for him. It will be interesting to see if he can carve out a varsity role as a sophomore.

Kenosha Bradford

Bradford is going to field three of the most exciting athletes at WR this fall. [player_tooltip player_id='284221' first='Tony' last='Jones Fisher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='402807' first='Brandon' last='Walton'] are need to know athletes in the Class of 2026 and Lorenzz Pratt is WR1 in the Class of 2027. All three of them have varsity experience under their belts too. [player_tooltip player_id='402807' first='Brandon' last='Walton'] leads the way with his 24/135/1, followed by Pratt with his 22/154/1. [player_tooltip player_id='284221' first='Tony' last='Jones Fisher'] finished 2023 with 4/186/2 as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='284221' first='Tony' last='Jones Fisher'] is the athlete who could take off the most this fall. Last year's leading receiver on the team was a 6'3"+ target out wide. Tony is a 6'3" WR that can step in and fill that role of a go to WR. He has a big frame, uses it to create separation, and has a sound base of athleticism to win with athleticism. [player_tooltip player_id='402807' first='Brandon' last='Walton'] is a two way impact player. On offense he is a shifty target that can play in the slot or out wide. He is sudden and explosive out of his breaks and has strong instincts with the ball in his hands. [player_tooltip player_id='1226891' first='Larenzz' last='Pratt'] is the up and coming prospect with a great base of raw talent. The athleticism stands out at the varsity level and he sees the field well before and after the catch. This trio could put up big numbers if it all comes together this fall.

Appleton North

While Appleton North will be replacing an experienced QB from 2023 they will have plenty of tools for the new QB to play with at the receiver position. [player_tooltip player_id='1209375' first='Abraham' last='Tomori'], [player_tooltip player_id='1209475' first='Michael' last='Guido'], and Caden Prince bring varsity experience of their own and [player_tooltip player_id='948112' first='Brady' last='Golden'] could break onto the big stage this fall too. Tomori leads the way with a 23/309/4 stat line, followed by [player_tooltip player_id='1209475' first='Michael' last='Guido'] with 18/296/0. Also contributing in 2023 was Caden Prince and his 13/162/3.

[player_tooltip player_id='1209375' first='Abraham' last='Tomori'] is the go to guy on this offense. The football/basketball dual sport athlete has a long, lean frame that plays with surprising quickness thanks to his sudden feet. In the open field Tomori uses long strides to get downfield quickly and pull away after the catch. The big target does a great job of naturally using his size to box out defenders when he goes to make the catch too. [player_tooltip player_id='1209475' first='Michael' last='Guido'] is a reliable safety valve for the incoming QB. Guido is a 6'1" 180 lbs WR who runs very strong after the catch, pushing the pile and breaking tackles. He also shows strong hands and concentration to make catches in traffic. Michael is a gritty player out wide. Caden Prince continues the theme of big bodies out wide. He is a 6'3" 195 lbs athlete who fits more of the TE role than WR. We see him line up in the slot a lot and stretch the field up the seam with his long strides. Over and over the big target seems to find himself running free behind DBs and easily plucking the ball out of the air. Caden has a nose for the soft spots on the field. Finally, [player_tooltip player_id='948112' first='Brady' last='Golden'] is a 2026 who was not on varsity last fall but we could see him find the field this year. We saw him in the slot, out wide, and as an H Back in 2023. He is a versatile athlete with athleticism and solid power giving him the ability to be used in those different areas.

Arrowhead

Arrowhead is going to have one of the best rosters in WI this fall. Their RB group made the Most Electric Backfields article earlier this week and they are back again with the talent they have at WR. This group is made up of not only experienced WRs, but young WRs. [player_tooltip player_id='533176' first='Harper' last='Hughes'], Sam Schneider, and [player_tooltip player_id='1220692' first='Ryan' last='Heiman'] all made key contributions on varsity in 2023 as sophomores. Hughes led the way with 25/345/4. Schneider posted 4/163/3 to go along with Heiman's 13/241/3. 2025 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1081896' first='Mac' last='Bong'] is the top incoming senior to know and will look to beat his 8/96 from last fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='533176' first='Harper' last='Hughes'] leads the way for this group and most of the state at the WR position. He checks a lot of boxes already. Speed, quickness, acceleration, and strong hands make him a nightmare as a route runner. After the catch he looks like a punt returner, finding blocks or looking for a path to green grass to cut back to. [player_tooltip player_id='1220692' first='Ryan' last='Heiman'] brings his accomplished track career to the football field, leaving a lot of CBs watching him pull away in the open field. He is an exciting difference maker that most defenses don't have an answer for. Sam Schneider fits the possession role of the offense. He is a receiver who thrives in the short passing game, getting in and out of breaks quickly, flashing quick hands, and forcing CBs to miss quickly after the catch. [player_tooltip player_id='1081896' first='Mac' last='Bong'] was used to attack the middle of the field at times and they also trusted his physicality to be an impact in the run game as a blocker. Mac could be an X factor for the offense.

Eau Claire Memorial

Eau Claire Memorial has an impressive pair of incoming seniors at their disposal in the passing game. [player_tooltip player_id='442874' first='Tay' last='Ferguson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='942606' first='Julius' last='Clark'] complement each other very well and the two have already put up solid numbers together. Both finished 2023 with 43 catches. Tay put up 661 yards and 7 TDs while Julius posted 420 yards and 4 TDs. Don't be surprised to see the two combine for an even better season in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='442874' first='Tay' last='Ferguson'] is one of the top receivers in WI. He has a big frame, tracks the ball so well and has an impressive ability to adjust to the ball at the last second. The 2025 has a big catch radius and strong hands to make catches through even some hard hits. Tay has the body control to be an effective route runner and uses his size to create separation. [player_tooltip player_id='942606' first='Julius' last='Clark'] will be back in September from a leg injury, and when he does the tape will show an exciting weapon. Clark is primarily a slot WR, but he isn't just running the quick routes underneath. The '25 is a big play threat who has the speed to get behind the defense. He finds the ball quickly and can flash late hands to make catches over unsuspecting DBs. Julius has a noticeable feel for the soft spots when the play breaks down too. He is one of the state's top steals at the position.
