Stats: 6 Receptions, 135 Yards, 2 TDs
We talked about his QB already in this article. Senior WR/S Tyler Lessard Tyler Lessard 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR Hudson | 2025 State WI was the athlete on the receiving end of that big passing day a lot of the time. Tyler has an elite frame to give a big catch radius to his QB and is also useful to box out DBs in the quick passing game. Tyler also is showing improved balance and route running. You see it on that quick slant that he takes to the house early in his highlights. You also see the top end speed to run away from the field of defenders. Downfield, Tyler does a great job of tracking the ball over his shoulder and adjusting to it so he can be in position to high point the ball or shield the ball from a defender. The senior has a strong hands to match that big frame. The senior is one of the top available athletes in WI.

I have been a fan of Tyler’s game for a couple years now, and it is time for him to stop being so slept on. On offense the big-bodied WR creates mismatches with his big catch radius and use of his body to create separation. He thrives in jump ball scenarios and in the redzone where he can high point the ball like going up for a rebound. The senior has strong hands to pull the ball in through traffic. At safety Tyler has plenty of range and it looks like he is playing even faster than he is because he does such a good job of reading the offense. That gives him a step ahead of most. Check out the tape. You won’t be disappointed.

An athlete that I believe is going to prove to be an absolute steal this fall is Hudson’s WR/S/ATH Tyler Lessard Tyler Lessard 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR Hudson | 2025 State WI . Tyler has great size at 6’4″ 205 lbs and he has run in the 4.7s at camps this summer. Size and athleticism for that size are not a question. Tyler plays the ball in the air very well and has soft hands to make some impressive grabs. After the catch, Lessard has some wiggle to his game and is able to physically dominate DBs with his power and contact balance. The standout 2025 is also productive. He scored 10 TDs in 2023, put up over 600 yards, and had two INTs on defense. It is a big surprise that Tyler doesn’t have any listed offers. He has a future as a big, possession WR or even as a TE. Coaches need to tune into his senior season and watch him dominate DBs.

One of my favorite WRs in the Class is Hudson’s Tyler Lessard Tyler Lessard 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR Hudson | 2025 State WI . The 6’4″ 200 lbs athlete is one of the more slept on prospects so far. I expect that to change as the summer camps kick off. Tyler is a big play creator out wide. He finished 2023 averaging just over 23 yards per reception. The big target has soft hands that maximize his already large catch radius. He separates himself from being just another big bodied WR with excellent body control and some quick twitch athleticism that allow him to win as a route runner in the quick passing game. Tyler has the strength after the catch to create yards after contact with a strong stiff arm and the balance to run through contact. Adding to his mismatch threat on offense, Tyler also stands out with his range, ball skills, and football IQ at safety on defense. Dive into this kid’s film. He is a big, athletic, prospect with production at a strong program.

Another impressive physical specimen is Hudson’s WR/S Tyler Lessard Tyler Lessard 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR Hudson | 2025 State WI . The 6’4″ 200 lbs junior looks the part of a high level college prospect. He plays the part too. On offense, Tyler maximizes his catch radius with soft hands. After the catch he can beat a defense with his long speed and with his power including a strong stiff arm. The junior is a mismatch in the redzone as well. Tyler also plays with a high sense of awareness that stands out on both sides of the ball, especially defense. Lessard is able to sit in his deep zone, read the field/QB and close on the ball. I could see him on either side of the ball at the next level, but I have a hard time not seeing him shine brightest as a receiver.

Tyler already possesses traits that many prospects don’t ever have. That is the size and strength to be able to hold up to the physicality of playing at a high level of college football. During his junior season we saw Tyler use those traits to be a very reliable run blocker out wide, and a receiver who can fight through contact to catch the ball. After the catch, Lessard easily rips through arm tackle attempts. If you don’t wrap up and gang tackle him he is going to give the secondary big troubles. What is going to get him a lot of attention outside of his size and physicality this offseason is solid route running, soft hands, and the mismatch he will be against most HS CBs. Don’t overlook the northern WI stud.

I was very excited to get to see our current WR1 in the Class of 2025 in person. No question, the junior lived up to the hype I had for him. Tyler scored two receiving TDs on the night and made multiple other key catches throughout the game. He also killed any last ditch momentum Menomonie could find when he returned his INT for a TD in the 4th Qtr. Lessard looks the part of a high level WR at the next level. He has a 6’4″ 195-200 lbs frame, and the ’25 knows how to use it to his advantage downfield. We saw him box out DBs, go up like it was for a rebound over the top of DBs. We saw him make quick adjustments to the ball while it was in the air. Plus he did a great job using his hands to catch the ball away from his body. The cherry on top of his great day was that he also had a solid night in coverage at safety. Tyler read the field/QB consistently well. Traded off responsibilities with CBs mid-play. Plus he made the clutch plays when needed, like the INT. This kid is one to put high on your recruiting boards early.

We wrap up with another massive, standout 2025 WR/TE. This time it is the 6’4″ 200 lbs Tyler Lessard Tyler Lessard 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR Hudson | 2025 State WI of Hudson. Lessard tricks a lot of DBs with his speed. Once he gets rolling Tyler is able to pull away from secondary defenders. If they give him a clean release off the line it ends up even worse for them. Tyler also impresses on the receiving end with his soft hands and ability to make the hard, concentration catches in traffic. The incoming junior knows how to use his size and trusts his athleticism. As he continues to develop his route running we are going to see him become even more of a mismatch for teams. Good luck matching up with him this fall.

The 6’4″ 200 lbs WR/TE is an impressive specimen among the Class of 2025. He has a massive frame that makes him a big target for his QB. Tyler is a hands catcher, and can pull in passes through hard contact. Lessard is also a basketball player, and from that comes a knowledge of how to use his body to create separation between the ball and defenders when going for the catch. Tyler also surprises with his long speed. He can stretch the field before the catch and take it the distance after the catch. His body control also helps in his route running. He is a smooth athlete who makes changing direction in his routes look easy. Look for Tyler to continue to climb the rankings as his career continues.
