This was a very tough choice. Do we take an X factor on one of the best offenses in the state or on the defense who will be facing another top offense in the state. In the end I believe this could be the highest scoring game of state. To do that Greisen and his offense will need all hands on deck. One of those is junior WR Landon Kibbe Landon Kibbe 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR/ATH West De Pere | 2027 State WI . The 2027 has flashed the ability to take over games and be a go to weapon. He uses his size to his advantage and plays the ball in flight so well. He has 34/569/9 on the year despite missing some time. The targets will be shared, and I’ll be watching to see Landon capitalize on his.

On the other side of the field in the Game of the Year we had a lot to choose from for a top performer. He is back to full strength and it is resulting in big numbers and big wins for West De Pere. Landon has made strides since I last saw him in person. Even with his bigger frame the junior excels with body control. Like making catches along the sideline, or getting open quickly in the short passing game with his route running. We are also seeing great examples of his hands, making concentration catches in traffic and holding onto the ball through hits. Landon is making himself such a reliable target, and one that can attack every level of the defense. This will be a name to know for the Class of 2027.

West De Pere is going to continue what they have done for several years now. Throw the ball early and often. They have the top talent when it comes to the QB position, so it will be about finding the talent to surround him with. They did a great job of it in 2024, and there are several solid options for 2025. My first choice is WR Landon Kibbe Landon Kibbe 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR/ATH West De Pere | 2027 State WI . Kibbe has had to recover from some injuries going back to last season, but he is 100% and ready to make his mark on this team. Landon is a long target with a large catch radius. Kids this size usually fall under the possession WR archetype, but Landon can get deep on a DB quick. He has an accomplished track career and that speed does flash on the gridiron. Landon has also shown he is a dude that will go up and fight for the ball in traffic. Between that, his size, and his long speed we could see plenty of highlight reel plays from his this fall. One thing is for certain, his QB isn’t afraid to spread the ball around. So the open guy is going to get it, and Landon is a kid that can create space consistently.

2024 Stats: 5 Receptions, 49 Yards

The West De Pere offense is not going to be slowing down when it comes to the passing game. So look for them to reload after the graduation of multiple extremely talented WRs. One of the kids I expect to see a big jump in impact is ’27 Landon Kibbe Landon Kibbe 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR/ATH West De Pere | 2027 State WI . Landon is back to full health and ready to show that he is ready for the Friday night role. For a bigger WR, Landon is a smooth athlete. You see the speed and subtle fakes on his deep routes to get DBs just a step out of position. You also see the hands that catch the ball away from the body and a QB can trust to bring it in through contact. I’m pumped up to see the step Landon has taken this offseason.

I was excited to watch Landon in person. I have been a fan of his tape since his freshman season, and came away even more excited about his future potential. Kibbe has been recovering from a knee issue that cost him some games this season, but he had worked himself back to competition shape. The numbers were strong for the sophomore. 6’1″ 182 lbs, 6’3″ wingspan, just over 10″ hands. Measurements that help highlight how big he is and how large his catch radius is.

The big WR surprised me with his savvy route running. He didn’t just rely on his size to win, but when he wanted to he was able to. Instead, the sophomore demonstrated some head fakes and other ways of setting up DBs to get them to bite and put themselves out of position. The sophomore WR did a very good job of finding ways to get over the top of his CB and from there was able to track down the ball and make the catch. The sophomore is a sure-handed target with size and understanding of route running. Keep an eye on this kid.
