. The ’27 RB out of West De Pere has made a massive leap in his development this offseason. He has built a jacked up frame that looks ready to tote the rock 15+ times every Friday this fall. The 1 on 1 battles let him show that he can also very easily add another 3-5 touches a game through the air. Kain is outstanding as a receiver. He has natural hands and has the route running prowess to not just be a checkdown option, but someone you can split out or run routes out of the backfield.
The lower body explosiveness shined in everything Kain did throughout the day. That started with a 10’5″ and 10’6″ efforts in the broad jump. Then in 1 on 1 run drills vs LBs Kain showed how that powerful lower body gave him the ability to either cut on a dime or accelerate up the sideline and leave LBs with bad angles of pursuit. We are going to see a big leap up our boards for Strong. What a day from the West De Pere RB. A legitimate backfield weapon that coaches need to watch live if they haven’t already.

Kain has been biding his time on the West De Pere offense, contributing where he could with his opportunities. 2026 looks like his year to breakout and take over. The highlights scream to me that he is ready for a heavy workload on Friday nights. Coming in at 6′ 205 lbs, Kain is built for a feature role. He can create big plays between the tackles thanks to his acceleration through gaps and second gear in space. Kain also shows off very reliable hands as a check down option or downfield running routes. On those downfield throws it is really impressive how natural Strong looks tracking the ball and snagging the ball out of the air. His size, athleticism, and rushing/receiving abilities tell me that Kain is one of the top RBs to have on your radars this summer and fall.

Kainan can use this summer to launch himself into a big year. He has the prototypical size of a feature RB. The tape also shows a very versatile athlete who can stay on the field in most situations. He has soft hands and can get open with his route running, especially against LBs. There are also plenty of examples of his speed and burst through gaps. Plus he is going to be able to finish his runs with power and has the contact balance to create yards after contact. I can’t wait to see what Kainan is able to produce in his senior season.

Rise: 148 -> 85
We wrap up with another favorite of mine from this Class. Kainan has continued to put on the size this offseason and has eclipsed 200 lbs, giving him a prototypical RB1 frame that can handle a large workload. Even with the added size, Strong has continued to build on his athleticism. That includes numbers like a 4.6 40, 7.16 shuttle, and multiple 10’+ broad jumps. The incoming junior was also apart of some very successful relay teams for WDP Track & Field. Kainan’s opportunities should be increased this fall, so I’m excited to watch him further prove his abilities and demand to be a highly-regarded member of this Class.

Another RB that I was jacked up to see make it out to Wauwatosa was West De Pere’s Kainan Strong. The sophomore is poised to have a huge junior season, and I only have more faith in that after watching him on Sunday. 4.63 40, 4.34 shuttle, 7.16 L-Drill and two elite jumps of 10′ and 10’1″ dominated the combine portion of the day. That explosive burst paired with the balance he has to change direction is going to be a nightmare for LBs to contain on Friday nights. It definitely gave the LBs in attention plenty of trouble on Sunday as they tried to run with him downfield. A big summer and fall is on the way for Strong.

2024 Stats: 27 Carries, 138 Yards, 1 TD
It is no secret that West De Pere utilizes the run game above all with the talent they have there, but the RB1 position on the team has had the job of keeping defenses honest by providing a viable running threat. They primarily did that with one RB in 2024. If we see that again it looks like Kainan Strong is next up in line to take over the job. I really like Strong’s play in the trenches. He shows off quick feet to pick through the traffic and then the burst to hit openings. The sophomore also has plenty of examples of the vision needed to win at the position.

to breakout on the West De Pere offense. Despite being led by QB1 in the state, WDP still was able to produce a 1,000 yard rusher in 2024. The Eau Claire commit will be off to the WIAC this fall, though so the workload is open for someone to take.
My pick at the moment is ’27

. The 5’11” 180 lbs RB is a one cut runner who is at his best when he can attack between the tackles. When the sophomore sees the lane he flashes his burst to fly through and get to the second level. Once he gets by the LBs he can hit that second gear and be off to the races. Strong won’t shy away from contact either and will be able to pick up the tough yards. Keep an eye out for this kid.

An RB that college recruiters are going to want on their radars for the next couple years is sophomore Kain Strong. The 5’10” 170 lbs back has a 6’1″ wingspan and 10″ hands to bolster the sophomore playmaker’s ball security. Kain ran a 4.81 40, 4.30 5-10-5, broad jumped 9’8″, and went 7.46 in the L-Drill. Those numbers are just the tip of describing Strong.
The 2027 has made noticeable strides in his game across the board. His agility and change of direction are explosive and powerful. He has lightning quick feet and hips that allowed him to fly through drills and shake LBs in run and receiving battles. Kain’s balance and body control shined through agility drills and when he would meet an opponent in the open field. Kain is a versatile back that looks to be in position to take over RB1 for West De Pere. Keep your eyes on the talented athlete.
