Here is a rundown of this 2026 class. Right now, there is not a prospect in this class who stands out as an FBS prospect like we have had in years past. Several prospects on this list had solid sophomore seasons that they can build off of, but there were not any dominant sophomore seasons as we saw from some of the top prospects from the past listed above. This class features multiple solid prospects, but all of them need to take steps forward during their Junior seasons to truly get on the FBS-level radar.

Jones takes the spot as the top QB in the state and, after a strong sophomore season, will have even more on his shoulders with the graduations of Jake Iacobaccio and his brother Donald Jones, who were two of CBA-Albany's top playmakers. Jones is a dual-threat prospect who showcases the ability to escape and extend plays consistently.

Jones has a smooth release and can make throws at all three levels of the field. His film shows a player equal parts athlete and thrower and can be utilized in the designed QB run game.

Scott, who played for Riverhead last season, will move to St. John The Baptist. Scott did not have the best group around him last season, but between his film and seeing him throw live, there is a ton to like in the way he throws.

Scott has the smoothest throwing motion in this class; his footwork seems effortless, and he generates a zip off the ball that other QB prospects in this class lack. In terms of the mechanics and ability to throw the ball, Scott is one of the best; the on-field performance, more importantly, decision-making and anticipation will be the next step for Scott, but with a strong Offensive Line at St. John The Baptist, Scott has a very intriguing year ahead.

Anzalone checks the size box, showcases a solid arm, and can extend plays with his feet. Anzalone shows solid pocket presence and effectively makes throws at the short and intermediate levels. Anzalone can be a very effective runner and could even impact the game more if he ran more often, both scrambling and in the designed QB run game. Anzalone has the size to help wear defenses down running the ball but shows the poise to make plays under pressure.

Berschwinger, one of the few QBs on this list who was a team captain, had a solid year for Guilderland. Berschwinger has one of the stronger arms in this class and is able to really push the ball vertically, especially in between the hash marks, something he does better than anyone in this class. Berschwinger is extremely poised in the pocket and showcases the ability to extend from the pocket but keep his eyes downfield making throws off platform.

Robinson was not a full-time starter last season for St. Anthony's and played early in the season until 2025 ATH/QB [player_tooltip player_id='1205418' first='Gary' last='Merrill'] broke out with his strong season. Robinson got a good run against Cardinal Hayes and Delbarton, and the sophomore signal caller looked really solid in both outings. Robinson may not have a ton of tape, but he showed some intriguing reps on film against high-quality opponents.

Smith was one of the top statistical quarterbacks in New York. The Deer Park dual-threat quarterback is a strong-armed quarterback with the athleticism to move and make plays outside of the pocket. Smith has a strong arm and can make tough throws off the platform; a big step forward would be the development of his lower body mechanics. Smith can get happy feet and sometimes makes throws off-platform when he doesn't need to. Regarding natural arm talent, Smith is amongst the best in New York and was one of the top underclassman QBs in terms of his ability to fill the box score.

Coan probably has the highest true ceiling of any quarterback in this class and the Sayville QB is in a similar situation to some other QBs in this class where he has some film but truly won't be the starter until this fall.

Coan has a very strong arm and throws with a natural zip and velocity that are a level above other quarterbacks in this class. He can make really tough throws in the intermediate area of the field and has on tape some high-quality level 1 and level 2 balls from the pocket. If Coan can continue to clean up his footwork, he will be able to push the ball vertically more consistently.

Gibbs may not have the flashy statistics or even play at the high level in New York, but Gibbs is one of the top QBs in the class when he has a clean pocket and can showcase his natural touch and consistent footwork + mechanics. Gibbs throws a beautiful ball on tape and can make throws at all three levels. Making more plays outside the pocket and being more efficient overall with fewer turnovers will be the step forward Gibbs needs to make.

Forte returns as one of the top quarterbacks in the PSAL, and he has the ideal frame for the position. Forte shows some flashes, making some very tough throws at all three levels. His ability to make simple plays with consistency and showcase more poise in the pocket can take his game to the next level. Forte flashed the playmaking ability as a first-year starter, making him among the state's top prospects.
