From a statistical standpoint, Smith was a top QB in the state. Standing at 5’11” 190-pounds, the Deer Park QB has an average size for the QB position. Smith is a dual-sport athlete and also plays basketball.
He is a strong QB with a beautiful deep ball. A true dual-threat on the football field he feels comfortable outside the pocket and can create plays with both his legs and arm at any point across the field. He has elite accuracy with his throws outside the pocket and down the field making him a threat on any down. He spent reps at FS allowing him to understand a defense and cut through them on the opposite side of the ball.

Smith was one of the top statistical quarterbacks in New York. The Deer Park dual-threat quarterback is a strong-armed quarterback with the athleticism to move and make plays outside of the pocket. Smith has a strong arm and can make tough throws off the platform; a big step forward would be the development of his lower body mechanics. Smith can get happy feet and sometimes makes throws off-platform when he doesn’t need to. Regarding natural arm talent, Smith is amongst the best in New York and was one of the top underclassman QBs in terms of his ability to fill the box score.
