Expert Analysis
Cory Lemer | Prep Redzone Scout
Scott has some of the most beautiful mechanics in the class. Standing at 6’2″ 170-Pounds, the St. John the Baptist QB, earned an offer from Marist where he is committed.
In his Senior Season, Scott had over 2,000 All Purpose yards, and accumulated over 20 touchdowns. His motion is pure and smooth and his three-step drop comes effortlessly. He stands tall in the pocket and can deliver an accurate strike while facing pressure. Marist is getting an underrated man at the helm in Scott.
Congratulations Maurice!

Standing at 6’2″ 170-pounds, Scott has an average build for the QB position. Following a transfer to St John The Baptist, he found himself in a QB room with a returning starter limiting playing time.
Looking at his film, he has some of the prettiest mechanics in the 2026 class. His motion is pure and smooth and his three-step drop comes effortlessly. He stands tall in the pocket and can deliver an accurate strike while facing pressure. His Deep ball is nice and looks clean accuracy tends to dip on harder throws. He feels comfortable outside the pocket and can use his legs to create plays down the field.

has a bright IQ paired with excellent mechanics. With a full season behind the helm, I expect to grasp a better picture on one of the more technical QB’s in the class.

Scott is in a similar boat to Anzalone, and that is why he lands in the potential breakout senior year area. Except instead of injury, Scott transferred to St. John the Baptist, where, although he got some run at points in the season, he had a quarterback returning, blocking the immediate path to play time.
Velocity: His arm strength is there; off-platform, he can make some throws with zip on them. Working from the pocket, he can really deliver high-level level 1 and level 2 passes. Although he played more as a SOPH at a different school, his velocity has clearly improved from SOPH to JR year.
Mechanics: When you watch Scott throw in the rhythm of a play, his throwing motion looks so smooth and efficient. The tape is too far away to get very specific about each part of his throwing motion, but as far as a snap to delivery on a 3-step drop, it looks about as good, if not better, than anyone in this class.
Scott gets an outro here because this evaluation really is not complete until we see him work this senior year as the starting quarterback at St. John the Baptist. He should perform well in a camp setting, but the key will be his production and tape this fall.

Scott, who played for Riverhead last season, will move to St. John The Baptist. Scott did not have the best group around him last season, but between his film and seeing him throw live, there is a ton to like in the way he throws.
Scott has the smoothest throwing motion in this class; his footwork seems effortless, and he generates a zip off the ball that other QB prospects in this class lack. In terms of the mechanics and ability to throw the ball, Scott is one of the best; the on-field performance, more importantly, decision-making and anticipation will be the next step for Scott, but with a strong Offensive Line at St. John The Baptist, Scott has a very intriguing year ahead.
