Butler is another NY WR, who has gained national attention, and after his senior season, he will head west to play at Stanford.
Butler had 58 catches and 1,200 yards in his final season, and holds multiple receiving school records at Long Island Lutheran. On film, he is an elite threat, who has track speed, which is used to get downfield and burn defenders. He has good footwork, which allow him to get a clean break off the line and gain crucial separation during routes. Stanford is getting an underrated star.
Congratulations Jacob!

Butler has excellent track speed—22.03 PR —and it translates to the football field on tape. Butler is the top deep threat WR in the state. Although he is 5’10” and many could label him as a slot receiver, I think his speed and ability to stretch the field give him the ability to play inside or outside at the next level.
Butler shows good ball skills all over his tape; his ball tracking down the field is excellent, and he shows the ability to make tough catches, contorting his body and showing good body control in the air. His long speed and change of direction make him a threat after the catch as well. There is a lot to like on tape from Butler; his verified speed definitely eases any concerns coaches would have about his size.

Long Island Lutheran, one of the top producers of talent on the island, has one of NY’s premier prospects in this class – Butler is a multi-year contributor and has been dominant as a receiver and returner for LuHi – it’s what you see on film and the off-season track numbers that make him such a sought after prospect already.
Butler ran 22.02 200m in the Summer of 2024 on that AAU track circuit, which is good enough for the fastest 200m in the 2026 class in New York by a fair margin club or HS.
His verified speed shows up on tape, and he is one of the best deep threats in New York. However, he displays good quickness and twitch on tape, along with some of the best YAC in WR tape this class. He also does a great job of attacking the ball in the air – he can contort his body to make tough catches and consistently snatches the ball out of the air.
Butler also has a 4.0 GPA – on the field, the performance is there, and the athleticism stands out. Off the field, Butler checks every box a WR coach looks for.

Butler, one of the state’s top sprinters, was a top performer for Long Island Lutheran this past season; Butler can operate from the slot or outside with his speed, stretches the field, and is one of the top vertical threats in New York. Butler shows solid hands and is a good route runner with excellent acceleration off the LOS and a really strong route tree 10+ yards past the LOS.

Out of Long Island Lutheran, Butler has been a varsity performer for multiple seasons. The WR prospect is also one of the top sprinters in the state. Butler has the athleticism to stretch the field and impacts the game after the catch. Butler shows a solid catch radius also, I think he can play in the slot or outside and can also add value as a returner.

out of Long Island Lutheran is one of the best playmakers on the island and just picked up an offer from Buffalo. Butler continues to progress and so does his recruitment, before the season started East Carolina and LIU extended offers. Atfer the season, big programs such as Boston College, Duke, and Syracuse all jumped in the mix. Buffalo makes it 6 for Butler who is also one of the better track sprinters in the state of New York.

The one they call Hurricane from Long Island Lutheran picked up an offer from D1 FCS LIU back on July 23rd. Butler will have more suitors coming his way soon enough and I expect him to rack up several more during the 2023 season and next spring and summer as well. Arguably one of the top play makers in the state for the class of 2026 and should prove to be one of the best play makers regardless of class come fall ’23.
