Early Signing Day Recap: Pass Catchers

With Early signing day this past week, hundreds of athletes across the state signing their pledge to colleges. In this article we will take a look at the twelve pass catchers who are currently committed to a college and plan to play a sport at the next level. In his State Championship win, the Senior had 145 yards and one touchdown on six catches. Hampton is a star at WR, and has elite hands, making hard catches look easy. I like his route running ability, and his footwork, allows him to make sharp cuts. After the catch he has elite speed, and a quick burst which allows him to blow past defenders. Oregon is getting a future top WR.   Congratulations Messiah!     Butler is another NY WR, who has gained national attention, and after his senior season, he will head west to play at Stanford.   Butler had 58 catches and 1,200 yards in his final season, and holds multiple receiving school records at Long Island Lutheran. On film, he is an elite threat, who has track speed, which is used to get downfield and burn defenders. He has good footwork, which allow him to get a clean break off the line and gain crucial separation during routes. Stanford is getting an underrated star.   Congratulations Jacob!     After an impressive Senior Season, Way will take his talents to Colgate to play football. The 6'0" WR, had a solid season, and is one of the top pass catchers in the state.   Way has a high IQ, and elite speed. He excels down the field, and can easily find his way into open space. I like his footwork on routes, especially stop and go reps, where he displays elite traits. Way has good hands, and can make plays through contact. Colgate is getting a star at Wide Receiver.   Congratulations Peyton!     Playing for Niskayuna this past season, Grasso was a Swiss Army knife, and accumulated 28 touchdowns, will multiple impacts on both offense and defense. Cam will be heading to Albany next season.   The Class A player of the year, has elite speed, and can easily blow past defenders after the catch, he is a special teams weapon, and is a threat on returns. I like his motor, and he has the ability to play anywhere from the slot to the backfield on offense. His hands are the biggest plus for him, as he can make tough catches look easy. Albany is getting a future do it all player.   Congratulations Cam!     Shoemaker was easily the biggest star at the WR position in the state this season. Shoemaker broke multiple Section One records, and the Three sport athlete, will be taking his talents to Harvard in the fall.   Shoemaker has elite size, standing at 6'5" 200-Pounds, he has an outstanding frame for a WR. He is a massive mismatch, and has elite hands, with every ball closely near him being a catch. His route running is exceptional, and he has elite foot work, that makes him an elusive and hard to tackle playmaker. Henry will easily be an elite pass catcher at Harvard.   Congratulations Henry!     Palazzolo has been a staple on this Somers squad which won 3/4 Class A State Championships. Palazzolo, was a Swiss army knife, and heading to Stonehill to play football.   The 5'8" WR, falls on the shorter side of the spectrum, but is an elite threat to any football squad. Palzzolo, has elite speed, and is an incredibly shifty player. He is a special teams star, and has excellent route running abilities. Stonehill is getting a valuable playmaker from him.   Congratulations Dean!     Committed to Hampton, the 5'10" 155-Pound Senior is coming off of an impressive senior season for South Shore. He racked up 1,000 yards and ten touchdowns, making his presence felt on the football field.   Antoine, is an elite playmaker, with a high motor and good IQ. He can play at multiple skill positions, but he fits more of a WR role. I like his speed, and he is quick off the line. He has solid hands, and can make catches in traffic and through contact. Hampton is getting a solid route runner, and outstanding athlete.   Congratulations Adrian!     The 5'9" 165-Pound Athlete, wrapped up his senior season, with a major impact on both the offense and defense aspects of the game. He will head West to Claremont McKenna for football next season.   Bernard played in the secondary, and at WR, where he had impressive stats, I like his footwork, and he shows a high IQ, and understanding of separation. He is an elite threat, across the field and should make a major impact in California. Claremont McKenna is getting an underrated star.   Congratulations Bennett!     Stephenson is easily one of the fastest guys in the state, and he has showcased that ability on the football field. St. Thomas Aquinas agrees, and he will be heading there for Track and Football.   Stephenson is extremely underrated, and he has elite footwork. His speed is a major advantage, as it allows him to excel in routes and after the catch. I like his hands, and he is an extremely elusive playmaker who has elite speed and hands. STAC football is getting a star in Stephenson.   Congratulations Jace!     Josse was easily one of the top pass catchers in the PSAL league this season and he took home the triple crown title after an impressive 2025 campaign. Josse will head to Chicago to continue his football career.   On tape, he is an outstanding prospect. He has amazing body control, which is seen on film. I like his route running ability, and footwork, as he can make elite cuts and create separation. He has a good get off the line, and displays a high IQ. Chicago is getting a route running star at WR.   Congratulations Ezra!     [player_tooltip player_id='1260105' first='Walker' last='Moore'] is easily my top TE in the state. The Bronxville Senior is coming off a state championship season, where he made multiple big time plays against Chenango Forks, and will take his talents to Williams College.   Moore flies under the radar, but has a major impact in every game. He is an excellent pass catcher, and has good hands with a blend of strength and size. In the run game, he is an excellent blocker, which is valuable for a TE, as he displays good hand placement and footwork through blocks. Williams College is getting a beast in Moore.   Congratulations Walker!     Last on the Pass Catchers list is [player_tooltip player_id='1345240' first='Ronan' last='Boyle']. Boyle will be taking his talents to Army in the fall, and had an amazing Senior Season for Penfield.   Standing at 6'5" 225-Pounds, he has an elite frame for a TE. He was an excellent blocker this season, and played a crucial role in a successful run game for his squad. He is incredibly strong, and has solid hands and a high IQ. Army is getting a good blocker and a solid pass catcher in Boyle.   Congratulations Ronan!
