Continue ReadingSpring cleaning has arrived for the 2025 Rankings as they expand to 150 total prospects ranked in the class. This update was primarily an expansion but also reflects prospects who have received college offers and prospects with new or updated film since the winter update. Here are the prospects who saw their stock rise over the past few months and increased their spots in our rankings.
There are still plenty of spots left for our Combine coming to Morgantown, WV on May 4th! Code WVHSCombine24 will get you a discount if you’d like to attend! For more information please click this link.

The highest stock riser in the Spring 2025 Rankings Update was Cabell Midland LB Carson Gue Carson Gue 6’3″ | 220 lbs | LB Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV who jumps up 87 spots to #26 overall. This was an instance where we just missed on his previous ranking as the 6’3 220 LB picked up an early D1 FCS offer from Eastern Kentucky back in February. After rewatching his tape, you can see why D1 schools are already interested in him with his combination of size and athleticism. Cabell Midland had some big names take the spotlight in 2023 with some 2025 and 2026 prospects ready to take the next step in 2024 in a group that includes Gue and others that also made big jumps in the rankings. He’s firmly inside the Top 30 now and with a big senior season could climb even higher and see more offers come in.
New Ranking: 13 | Previous Ranking: 99 | Spots Raised: 86
The second of three Cabell Midland Knights to see their stock rise significantly in our Spring rankings update is DB Myles Meadors Myles Meadors 5’11” | 170 lbs | DB Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV . This was a case where we simply didn’t dive far enough into his 12-minute-long junior highlight tape to see the bulk of his defensive film. Had we done so, Meadors would’ve ranked much higher than he did previously in the winter update and climbed 86 spots higher to #13 overall in the spring update. Meadors’ high increase is due to receiving an offer from App State in February with other FBS programs in the mix for future offers. He also flips from WR to DB in the rankings which is likely where his ceiling is highest. I got to see him in person at a 7 on 7 event earlier this year where he looked the part from a physical and athletic standpoint. Meadors makes his way into the Top 15 of what appears to be a deep 2025 class in the making and could eventually enter the Top 10 depending on future potential offers.

The highest stock riser in the WR group in the spring update is Huntington WR Taviun Chandler Taviun Chandler 6’4″ | 170 lbs | WR Huntington | 2025 State WV . I was ecstatic to see him finally post his junior highlight tape as we had very little film to go off of in the winter update but certainly knew he had the talent to rank higher. The 6’4 170 wideout just wrapped up a successful basketball season where he showed some major hops and next-level athleticism on the hardwood. Lack of production in 2023 still keeps him lower in the rankings than where he’ll likely end up in the final update after the 2024 season, but Huntington had a loaded WR room in 2023 so reps were limited. Although they’ll return another stacked WR group in 2024, Chandler should see an increase in playing time with more opportunities his senior year and could make another big jump in future updates with possible D1 interest coming from athletic ability alone.
New Ranking: 12 | Previous Ranking: 42 | Spots Raised: 30
The third Cabell Midland Knight and third-highest stock riser in the spring update is fellow DB Landon Nida Landon Nida 5’10” | 180 lbs | DB Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV . Not only did he jump up 30 spots to #12 overall now, but Nida is also now considered the #2 DB in the 2025 class. Like many of his teammates this off-season, Nida too picked up his first D1 offer from App State which warranted a big increase in the rankings. The offer makes a ton of sense as Nida has athletic ability that you’re either born with or you aren’t and could go D1 in multiple sports. He’ll have some stiff competition to maintain that lofty ranking including prospects on his own team and DB room, but Nida should see other FBS programs jumping on board with App State sooner rather than later.

Spring Valley WR Jalyn Abercrombie Jalyn Abercrombie 5’10” | 175 lbs | WR Spring Valley | 2025 State WV caused a shakeup in our 2025 Top 5 in this update as he jumps to the #5 spot. The move to inside the Top 5 was warranted after a busy past couple of months on the recruiting trail where he picked up three D1 offers including two from FBS schools in App State and Marshall. He was a stock riser in our winter update as well but clearly deserved to be even higher. Abercrombie also jumped to the #2 WR spot in the 2025 class at a position that has several prospects who likely will eventually sign with D1 schools down the road. I think Abercrombie is on the verge of receiving some potential P4 offers in the future, especially if he builds on the successful junior campaign he had in 2023 and hits the college camp circuit hard.
New Ranking: 15 | Previous Ranking: 26 | Spots Raised: 11
George Washington OL Brayden Lude Brayden Lude 6’3″ | 255 lbs | OL George Washington | 2025 State WV had a small drop in the rankings in the winter update when junior highlights weren’t available but takes back the spot he previously had in the update prior. Lude now sits at #15 overall and the #2 ranked OL in the 2025 class as he once held. He has steadily gotten bigger over the years which has been the one knock on him as he has all of the other tools needed for the position. Now listed at 6’3 255, Lude still has plenty of room to keep growing but appears to be maintaining the high-level athleticism he has shown throughout his career as he gets bigger. He has the best feet and footwork by a WV offensive lineman that I’ve evaluated since joining PRZ at a position that has produced some elite big men over the years. I believe Lude has D1 ability and would not be shocked to see him pick up an offer before his senior season especially if he can eventually reach the size needed to play the position at that level.
New Ranking: 25 | Previous Ranking: 35 | Spots Raised: 10
The story of Brock Martin Brock Martin 6’1″ | 175 lbs | WR Fairmont Senior | 2025 State WV has been fun to watch over the past year as he has steadily improved his ranking since originally debuting in the 2025 rankings at #62 before his junior year. Colleges have taken notice of his improvement as well with D1 FCS Morehead State pulling the trigger on his first D1 offer back in January. Martin will head to fellow Marion County foe Fairmont Senior for his senior year who is putting together a team that appears to be the early favorite in the new Class AAA. The next step in Martin’s journey will be to see if he can earn some looks from FBS programs. Top 25 is already an impressive feat but if Martin continues the trajectory he’s been on during his high school career, I could foresee him earning offers from even bigger programs at a program that will have plenty of eyes on them in 2024.

We’ve been hinting at George Washington potentially having the 2 top-ranked linebackers in the 2025 class and we are finally making that official. Guner Flores Guner Flores 6’1″ | 205 lbs | LB George Washington | 2025 State WV now ranks inside the Top 10 and the #2 LB in the class pairing with #1 LB and teammate Hunter Giacomo Hunter Giacomo 6’0″ | 190 lbs | LB George Washington | 2025 State WV in the Patriots’ linebacker group. Flores picked up his first D1 offer from App State in February and D1 FCS Eastern Kentucky followed suit as well. I expect that number to increase over time as he makes the college visit rounds during the spring and summer before his senior season. The Top 5 linebackers will be fighting it out for their spots in the rankings until the final rankings come out after next season, but Flores has earned a Top 2 spot and will be battling for that #1 ranking until the finish line.
New Ranking: 22 | Previous Ranking: 25 | Spots Raised: 3Fairmont Senior WR Cannon Dinger Cannon Dinger 5’9″ | 165 lbs | WR Fairmont Senior | 2025 State WV is another WR who has steadily climbed in the 2025 rankings and is now inching closer to the Top 20. D1 FCS Morehead State extended Dinger his first D1 offer in January as the 2025 class begins to take shape and separates with which prospects are D1-level. Size will always be a question for some college programs regarding Dinger, but he’s more than proved over his career that he can play at that level of football. He has all of the other tools you want in a slot receiver and capped off a monster junior campaign with a state championship. The Polar Bears will have plenty of attention on them in 2024 with some big transfer additions and a great group returning from 2023 to make a run for back-to-back championships which could benefit Dinger’s recruitment even further. With fellow 2025 WR Brock Martin Brock Martin 6’1″ | 175 lbs | WR Fairmont Senior | 2025 State WV announcing he’ll be transferring to Fairmont Senior for his senior year, he and Dinger have a good argument for being the best WR duo in the state next season.

Just a one-spot increase in the spring update, but George Washington LB Hunter Giacomo Hunter Giacomo 6’0″ | 190 lbs | LB George Washington | 2025 State WV cemented himself as a Top 10 prospect in the 2025 class. Giacomo finally earned that pesky first D1 offer from App State back in February with other programs maintaining their interest in him. I fully expect that number to grow over the spring and summer as he continues making college visits and gets in front of college coaches in person. If Giacomo makes as big of a jump from his junior to senior year as he did from his sophomore to junior year I expect he’ll have some options at the next level come signing day. It’s going to be fun to watch the friendly competition between him and fellow 2025 LB Guner Flores Guner Flores 6’1″ | 205 lbs | LB George Washington | 2025 State WV for who finishes in that #1 linebacker spot when the final rankings drop after next season.

Another one-spot increase in the 2025 rankings but a very notable increase is from Hurricane ATH/QB Noah Vellaithambi Noah Vellaithambi 5’11” | 205 lbs | ATH Hurricane | 2025 State WV . Vellaithambi continued his explosion from the 2023 season onto the 2024 recruiting trail as he picked up three more D1 FBS offers from Toledo, App State, and in-state Marshall. It’s tough for much movement to be had inside the Top 5 at this point in the rankings cycle, but Vellaithambi is still climbing and fighting for an even higher ranking. He also earned another invite to the much acclaimed Elite 11 regionals as he transitions back to quarterback after a year hiatus. A great college camp season and a huge senior year may have P4 schools sniffing around and potentially offering after showing great versatility as an ATH in 2023 with positional options for the next level.
