Cabell Midland is beginning to figure things out under a new head coach the past 4 games and 2025 Edge Carson Gue Carson Gue 6'3" | 220 lbs | EDGE Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV is playing a key piece to their recent success on both sides of the ball.

Gue is getting good reps on offense at TE this season as a punishing blocker showcasing his physicality further along with his defensive film. Edge feels like his most natural position at the next level, and Gue is executing at that spot well this season. Even as a bigger framed athlete, Gue’s quickness off the edge surprises offensive tackles and he can beat them to their spot consistently with the athleticism to bend around them as well. Ball carriers won’t want to see Gue barreling down on them with a full head of steam behind him as he can lay the wood once he gets there too. He’s another prospect on this list with D1 potential and a high ceiling as a future college player.

Another highly-ranked and talented defensive player for the Knights this season will be 2025 LB/Edge Carson Gue Carson Gue 6'3" | 220 lbs | EDGE Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV . Gue is also a D1 prospect who has picked up an offer from FCS Eastern Kentucky earlier this year and could add to that list with a strong senior season. He has good length for an OLB/Edge hybrid player at 6’3 220 with the frame to get north of 230 pounds at the next level. Gue has the versatility to be an effective pass rusher and stout in the run game with good speed and quickness off the edge and the strength to be physical between the tackles.

Gue is primed for a breakout season in 2024 after showing flashes of potential dominance as a junior last year.

The highest stock riser in the Spring 2025 Rankings Update was Cabell Midland LB Carson Gue Carson Gue 6'3" | 220 lbs | EDGE Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV who jumps up 87 spots to #26 overall. This was an instance where we just missed on his previous ranking as the 6’3 220 LB picked up an early D1 FCS offer from Eastern Kentucky back in February. After rewatching his tape, you can see why D1 schools are already interested in him with his combination of size and athleticism. Cabell Midland had some big names take the spotlight in 2023 with some 2025 and 2026 prospects ready to take the next step in 2024 in a group that includes Gue and others that also made big jumps in the rankings. He’s firmly inside the Top 30 now and with a big senior season could climb even higher and see more offers come in.

FCS Eastern Kentucky gave Gue his first opportunity at the next level and he’ll likely be someone who sees his stock rise even further during his senior season. Gue is an exciting and intriguing prospect with high upside but what position will he end up at? He’s a bit of a DE/OLB hybrid but with 6’3 220 size and a big frame, Gue may eventually grow into a pure DE when it’s all said and done. He’s another prospect who will see a big jump in the rankings and was just a miss by us during our last round of evaluations. Cabell Midland will lose some important defensive pieces to graduation for next season, so Gue will have the chance to shine for a program that will have a bunch of eyeballs on them in 2024 with the roster they have.

A high-ceiling player who could really make a big jump in the 2025 Rankings after next season is Cabell Midland’s Carson Gue Carson Gue 6'3" | 220 lbs | EDGE Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV . I’d love to see the 6’3 220 athlete bulk up and move to defensive end full-time next season where he has a ton of upside. Gue saw some time on the defensive line as a junior along with some OLB/Edge snaps and should see an increased role in 2024. For now, he’ll be ranked as a linebacker and comes in at #113 overall and the 17th ranked player at that position. You saw flashes of his potential as a junior this season and Gue is a very intriguing prospect that you need to keep tabs on during his senior year.
