A very underrated and under-the-radar 2025 DB prospect to know this season is Elijah Pratt Elijah Pratt 5'7" | 175 lbs | DB Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV . Pratt was another first-time rankings placer in our summer update and a prospect we got to see in person at our PRZ WV Combine back in May. Here’s how we recently described Pratt’s game and ability as a prospect in our rankings New Additions article.

“While he may have some physical limitations, Pratt has one of the highest football IQs in the state which is apparent when watching his junior highlight tape. Pratt does a nice job of overcoming some size deficiencies by having a great understanding of the game and his assignments while putting himself in a good position to make a play. A free safety prospect with the physicality to play strong, Pratt is equally as capable of playing in the box to stop the run as he is dropping into zones in pass coverage. He’s a stout athlete for his size with a wrestling and Olympic wrestling background that gives him a big boost as an undersized prospect.”

Elijah Pratt Elijah Pratt 5'7" | 175 lbs | DB Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV out of Cabell Midland is one of the more underrated defensive back prospects in the state of West Virginia. While he may have some physical limitations, Pratt has one of the highest football IQs in the state which is apparent when watching his junior highlight tape. Pratt does a nice job of overcoming some size deficiencies by having a great understanding of the game and his assignments while putting himself in a good position to make a play. A free safety prospect with the physicality to play strong, Pratt is equally as capable of playing in the box to stop the run as he is dropping into zones in pass coverage. He’s a stout athlete for his size with a wrestling and Olympic wrestling background that gives him a big boost as an undersized prospect.

Pratt’s play on the field would warrant a much higher ranking but size is an ever-so-important trait for colleges which hurts his ceiling a bit as a prospect.

2025 Cabell Midland DB Elijah Pratt Elijah Pratt 5'7" | 175 lbs | DB Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV is a physically impressive 5’7 175 and had a nice showing at the Combine. We liked the recent film Pratt posted from his junior season and expected him to be one of the better defensive backs in attendance. While he doesn’t have great length, Pratt is very strong for his size and uses it to his advantage. He’s a safety prospect with a wrestling and Olympic lifting background who performs stronger during a real game compared to a camp setting where contact isn’t nearly as prevalent. Pratt may not be used to playing in man coverage as a safety, but his physical strength gives him a great advantage when pressing at the line.

Pratt is an intelligent football player with a great understanding of the game and his responsibilities who is going to overcome physical limitations because of such.

We got to see some film of Cabell Midland 2025 DB Elijah Pratt Elijah Pratt 5'7" | 175 lbs | DB Cabell Midland | 2025 State WV since our last rankings update came out and liked what we saw from the rising senior. Pratt has garnered some college interest this off-season and claims an offer from D2 WV State, but it will be great to get him on our radar more at the combine. You can tell he’s a quality athlete just from watching his film and is a multi-sport athlete for the Knights with a wrestling and track background too. Size will likely be what colleges will be questioning the most from Pratt, but he’s a strong and compact athlete from his wrestling and Olympic weightlifting training. He also appears to be a fluid athlete who should test well at the combine and looks good on film covering ground and playing in space. Our question for Pratt will be how good his testing numbers will be and can he perform well in man coverage as a safety prospect? Pratt appears to be an intelligent player on the field who knows what to do and where to be on every play with a good understanding of his assignments. That should translate to 1-on-1s and could be an under-the-radar player heading into the combine that ends up being a top performer.
