One player poised for a much larger role in Cabell Midland’s offense is 2028 Cabell Midland RB/FB Mason Bryant. The rising junior is expected to carry the load from the fullback position, bringing the physical, downhill running style that has long been a staple of the Knights’ offense. Bryant has continued to develop since flashing as a sophomore and gives the offense another reliable option between the tackles while possessing enough athleticism to break off bigger runs. In a system that values tough, physical football, Bryant looks like a natural fit and could become an important piece of the Knights’ offensive identity this season.

Mason Bryant Mason Bryant 5'7" | 180 lbs | RB Cabell Midland | 2028 State WV was a standout on Cabell Midland’s younger squad as a freshman and will provide depth in the backfield for the Knights moving forward. He’ll be able to play some fullback in their scheme in the future with the frame that he has. Bryant is a quality athlete who could break loose to the outside and has a stronger build to run between the tackles as well. Length will determine his future as a prospect, but he’ll work his way onto the field on Friday nights in some capacity in the future.

Mason Bryant Mason Bryant 5'7" | 180 lbs | RB Cabell Midland | 2028 State WV did a nice job for the Cabell Midland JV team this past season playing mostly at one of their wingback spots. Bryant is a stocky-built running back but got outside consistently on his tape with speed to get to the corner. He can also take it inside from the wing and does a nice job cutting it up when needed if the outside gets crashed. Bryant is a physical runner between the tackles and will often fall forward with the first defender bearing the brunt of him coming downhill. Depending on how his body develops and Cabell Midland’s future scheme, Bryant has the potential to play fullback at the varsity level given what he’s shown to this point, and could excel in that role.
