Continue ReadingHard to articulate the meteoric rise Spring-Ford’s QB has been on in recent months. He’s no longer a PA hidden gem, he isn’t sleeping on anyone moving forward. Zollers, thanks to several SEC and Big10 endorsements, now stands clear as the state’s top passer regardless of class. Zollers was already in that conversation before the Florida and Georgia offers began to roll in, those who keep up with my pieces understand I keep Zollers in high regard, I now have the ammunition to justify moving him above the likes of Stone Saunders Stone Saunders 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Bishop McDevitt | 2025 State PA and Skyler Smith Skyler Smith 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Malvern Prep | 2025 State PA . 6’4, 205, a real threat with his legs, you should read this and understand the upside Zollers holds over the smaller and less athletic prospects beneath him. Was just a matter of Zollers proving it on the turf this past Fall. He did that and more. Zollers holds the crown, I’m in the know of how current suitors are maneuvering/posturing to potentially pull a commitment out of the stud QB. Trust me, this kid is as hot a commodity as anyone in the Northeast region of the country.
Bishop McDevitt’s Stone Saunders Stone Saunders 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Bishop McDevitt | 2025 State PA “falls” to the two spot, something many outside of PA didn’t foresee happening before his senior campaign. Saunders, who is still committed to Kentucky, was the poster child through pretty much the duration of his career at BMD. I’m in favor of the case that Zollers has overachieved and excelled beyond anyone’s scale of belief, as opposed to the case that Saunders “fell off”. Saunders still put together a remarkable/respectable junior season on tape. Things certainly didn’t end the way he or BMD would have liked, but the ending nor his tape are necessarily factors as to why we ranked Saunders four spots lower than Zollers. Now that Zollers has matched Saunders in terms of tape quality, production, you almost have to favor Zollers’ upside as a bigger and better athlete. That’s the slim difference, for me at least. Both QBs are gems that could make or break a recruiting class moving forward. Saunders should still garner the same respect and hold the same reputation he held coming into the year. Trends are trends.
Zollers and Saunders are the cream of the crop, I’d make the case that there is no better 2025 QB option outside of Malvern Prep’s Skyler Smith Skyler Smith 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Malvern Prep | 2025 State PA . Major props to the former camp standout, Smith recently announced his decision to commit to Lafayette University, shutting down his recruitment a bit earlier than many would expect. A QB worthy of FBS attention lands at the FCS level. The third-best QB among 2024 quarterbacks is working nearby, with Hayden Johnson Hayden Johnson 5’10” | 190 lbs | LB Trinity | 2027 PA committing to Lehigh. The potential of watching Smith and Johnson work close to home has me likely attending Lafayette and Lehigh games in the future. There are a few QB prospects behind Smith that hold a candle to Smith’s complete skillset when healthy. I’m going to need strong evidence that proves another QB is worthy of this spot behind Saunders and Zollers before I think about moving Smith off of third. Excited for his future.
If I were to replace Skyler Smith Skyler Smith 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Malvern Prep | 2025 State PA , Luke Kosko Luke Kosko 6’4″ | 210 lbs | QB Thomas Jefferson | 2025 State PA is likely the candidate to be named first behind the Saunders and Zollers. A couple of reasons why. First, athletic ceiling and profile are arguably the best among the four mentioned QBs. 6’4, 210, you can make an easy case that Kosko carries the most impressive build in this class. A second reason, his upside. Kosko, because of his arm talent, matched with his frame. We know Kosko garnered early attention out of Marshall and Charlotte back when he was stationed at Seton LaSalle. He’s an easy sell to potential FBS suitors. One thing stands in his way, substantial tape and production. Brody Evans Brody Evans 6’3″ | 190 lbs | QB Thomas Jefferson | 2024 State PA impressed me more in live-action, I value what I see in person. I’m unsure of the QB situation at TJ with Evans moving on, I’d imagine it’s the Kosko show moving forward. A full year of consistent play, with no time on the sideline, could be all we need to see to get him inside the top 100. I think the young man is capable, he was once inside our Top 50. He isn’t that far off. I’m expecting big things moving forward.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tanner Pfeuffer Tanner Pfeuffer 6’6″ | 185 lbs | QB Bethel Park | 2025 State PA ‘s name blow up a bit. Might be a contender for late flurries in the form of offers. Pfeuffer is gaining real interest out of G5 OH programs, wouldn’t be too far-fetched to see a Miami of OH or Akron take a chance on him down the line. Still, my current projection has Pfeuffer as a likely candidate for FCS football/interest, especially with him playing around SFU and Duquesne. Pfeuffer’s inside our QB top five for the first time, let’s hope I’m not over-estimating the young man’s abilities. I was on the fence concerning all things Pfeuffer before plugging in his impressive junior tape, this is the kind of solidification I want to see out Luke Kosko Luke Kosko 6’4″ | 210 lbs | QB Thomas Jefferson | 2025 State PA at Thomas Jefferson.
Gettysburg’s Brady Heiser Brady Heiser 6’1″ | 200 lbs | QB Gettysburg | 2025 State PA has been equally consistent as any quarterback on this list. That holds value to me. Successful and productive in Gettysburg’s offense since we first laid eyes on him as a freshman back in early 2022. Not much eb and flow to his game, what you see is what you get, one of the better dual-threat passers we have playing in the Keystone State. Brady has slowly filled out his frame, this in contrast to seeing him in person two years ago. He has room to grow both horizontally and vertically, but he’s making the undersized verdicts look out of date. He isn’t undersized and is witnessed making throws at all three levels of the field. Despite his drop in rank, I fully expect FCS schools to reach out in some form. Heiser’s skillset and track record resembles many in the past that reached the FCS level. High floor prospect. Questioning the level of speed he faces is warranted.

Madden Patrick Madden Patrick 6’0″ | 175 lbs | QB Danville | 2025 State PA has put enough work in to separate himself from the pack. Ridiculous numbers for consecutive seasons. Production can’t be overlooked despite many discrediting the conference he plays in. I wouldn’t put too much stock into that. If his measurables stand true, if he’s a legit 6’0, putting a few good pounds on his frame would be a must this offseason. Accuracy is his calling card, accuracy in the pocket and on the move. Patrick has seen an uptick/spark in recruiting as of late. Schools are making sure they stop by large in part due to Patrick’s junior tape. Great grades, accolades to his name, Patrick is missing the measurement pre-requisites required to have coaches comfortable pulling the trigger right now. One thing’s for sure, Patrick is likely to impress important people during college camp circuit weeks.

One of my favorite names to throw around to those who aren’t familiar with D11 football. Chase Walker Chase Walker 6’4″ | 230 lbs | QB Freedom | 2025 State PA , the 6’4, 230-pound Freedom QB, isn’t active on Twitter currently. He might be missing out on some opportunities because of it, especially considering how well he threw the ball as a junior this past Fall. Connecting with D1 talent Shacre Colwell Shacre Colwell 6’2″ | 165 lbs | WR Freedom | 2025 State PA , Walker could be counted on to stretch the field vertically, you can make the case that Walker is equipped with the strongest and most capable arm of anyone on this list in terms of distance earned. Walker can move a bit but I wouldn’t call it his game. The big-bodied QB can likely use his frame to absorb contact in the pocket, possibly even to provide goal-line playbook opportunities, as opposed to running and creating with his legs out of the pocket. He was phenomenal in the game I attended at BecaHi. His name should be gaining some traction this off-season.
I’m getting the feeling, despite his climb into our Top Ten, I might still be short-selling Blayze Myers Blayze Myers 6’3″ | 215 lbs | QB McDowell | 2025 State PA ‘ game. I’m sure his overall rank could elevate, although he’s sitting on the fence between an FCS and a PSAC grade/projection. Considering his complete career at McDowell, I find it hard to imagine that many PSACs out West won’t extend an opportunity to him at some point. That being his floor, what’s Myer’s ceiling? It’s an intriguing conversation to bring up with coaches. Size checks out, production is a plus, grades are phenomenal (4.212 GPA), multi-sport kid. So long as coaches are comfortable with how well he understands the position from a mental standpoint, he’s likely to outpace his current ranking. Time will tell.

Carson Heinle Carson Heinle 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Kiski Area | 2025 State PA beats out PJP2’s Terlesky (no tape), Southern Lehigh’s Chris Fritts, and Camp Hills’s Branstetter strictly off of tape. Heinle’s junior tape was leaps and bounds beyond anything he’s put out in the past, in my opinion. It’s a huge compliment if I place you above equally talented prospects strictly based on tape alone. I can place prospects above others for various reasons, none better than reps on the field, as opposed to height/weight or hype/recruiting trends. Accuracy through the roof, confidence to make/attempt throws at all three levels of the field. Heinle carries a college-ready build too, he isn’t deficient in this area, although he has some room left in his pads to fill in. Henning, McClain, and Kavals are also gunning for this spot.
