19 of 26 passing against a fantastic Roman secondary. 13 yards shy of a 300-yard game in the 5A Title Game. Saunders would score twice through the air, an extra time on the ground. On top of the stellar performance, Saunders would end the game and his career as Pennsylvania’s All-Time leader in passing touchdowns, total pass completions, as well as total passing yards. It was an honor to cover and watch the young man play quarterback throughout the years. We wish him nothing but the best moving forward.

The future Kentucky player will play his last game of his high school career trying to win a 2nd title in 3 years. Saunders has had one of the best careers in Pennsylvania High School Football History. It would be a great accomplishment to cap it off his career with another state title.

Hard not to start with the best quarterback in the Mid-Penn Conference. He became the all-time leader in Pennsylvania History for touchdown passes last week. Saunders, the Kentucky commit, is a legit quarterback who does a good job of throwing the ball inside and outside the pocket.

has had an unbelievable career for Bishop McDevitt and it continued on Friday night when he threw for 244 yards and 6 touchdowns. It also made it a special night because Saunders tied a Pennsylvania record for career touchdown passes. Saunders will most certainly break the record next week and will continue to obliterate the record for the rest of the year. Tip of the cap to

against Mount Saint Joseph. Saunders reminded many media members like myself that we shouldn’t take his talents for granted. We’ve spoken so highly of Stone throughout the years, deservedly so, that at this point in his career, evaluators in my position tend to reach for things that haven’t been said yet. This leads to undeserved holes being poked in his game, it has led to many “yeah but”s inside of recruiting circles. We should take a step back and laud Saunders a bit further, especially after the performance put forth this past Saturday evening. This is pretty much a new cast of wideouts at Saunders disposal and yet the kid hardly missed a beat. This is the same Saunders we’ve grown accustomed to throughout the years, this without the likes of Rico Scott and Tyshawn Russell. Saunders could pout at every wrong route run, he could pout at every forgotten assignment, he didn’t. The senior quarterback led this offense to a victory, much like he has since his freshman year at McDevitt. Let’s applaud the consistency and the work ethic it takes to play at this level for four years. One of the best to do it repping Pennsylvania. Saunders ripped perfect posts to Dominic Diaz, Stone flexing his effortless touch down the field. Saunders made carving up this defense look easy, his performance would have you thinking MSJ wasn’t prepared, you can bet that wasn’t the case.

will be entering his 4th year as a starting quarterback for Bishop McDevitt. The ultra-talented Saunders is a machine in the pocket delivering balls all over the field. He has been committed to Kentucky since last season. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:
“He has great mechanics and can make every pass from the pocket. Saunders does a great job of scanning the defense making the right read and then finding open receivers. Saunders is also good at moving in the pocket and keeping plays alive to find open receivers. Saunders has a chance to finish his career as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in the history of Pennsylvania”.

“falls” to the two spot, something many outside of PA didn’t foresee happening before his senior campaign. Saunders, who is still committed to Kentucky, was the poster child through pretty much the duration of his career at BMD. I’m in favor of the case that Zollers has overachieved and excelled beyond anyone’s scale of belief, as opposed to the case that Saunders “fell off”. Saunders still put together a remarkable/respectable junior season on tape. Things certainly didn’t end the way he or BMD would have liked, but the ending nor his tape are necessarily factors as to why we ranked Saunders four spots lower than Zollers. Now that Zollers has matched Saunders in terms of tape quality, production, you almost have to favor Zollers’ upside as a bigger and better athlete. That’s the slim difference, for me at least. Both QBs are gems that could make or break a recruiting class moving forward. Saunders should still garner the same respect and hold the same reputation he held coming into the year. Trends are trends.
