6’0, 185, 3.7 GPA, now at Bishop McDevitt. Has carried this level of ranking since freshman year for a reason. True safety prospect with size and playmaking ability. Picked up a Duquesne offer, more should follow. When at Cumberland Valley, showed he could change games quickly. Fits the mold of a serious FCS safety at minimum. Lack of junior-year production could slow things slightly. Still a Division I player in my eyes. Tools and track record are already there.

of Cumberland Valley High School is an instinctive 2027 defensive back who brings physicality and football IQ to the secondary. At 6’0”, 180 pounds, Sherman has a solid frame that allows him to match up well in coverage while also holding up in run support. He does an excellent job reading offensive routes, showing patience in zone and reacting quickly once the quarterback commits. His anticipation allows him to break on the ball with confidence and close space in a hurry. Sherman thrives when he can fly downhill, delivering aggressive, tone-setting hits on receivers after the catch. He plays with controlled aggression, rarely taking poor angles when coming forward to make a play. In coverage, he stays balanced in his backpedal and transitions efficiently out of his breaks. With his instincts and physical edge, Sherman projects as a defensive back who can impact the game both in coverage and as a force in the open field.

is a good athlete who is an excellent two-way player for Cumberland Valley. As a wide receiver, he is a difference maker. He is excellent after the catch by making defenders miss in space. He has excellent speed, and once he gets into the open field, he is off to the races. As a defender, he shows a great ability as a safety. He is excellent at coming upfield and making tackles in the open field. Sherman has a chance to be even better this season for Cumberland Valley, and he picked up an offer from Duquesne University already. I expect more offers to come his way.
#AGTG Blessed to receive my first D1 Offer from Duquesne! Thank you @CoachGeisel for the opportunity to play at the next level! @coachoswalt @CVHS_Football @Coach_Astorino pic.twitter.com/Po25BqA0yx

as an athlete if you prefer that, but I really want to highlight his tape at Safety. Sherman has a good build for starters, doesn’t look too thin or too clunky out there deep. Sherman has a special level burst for the position always running down hill at the speed of light almost. The coverage skills are awesome, the skills to actually go get the football are even better. There was a clip about halfway through his tape where he runs from the middle of the field, and meets the WR at the sideline to make a play on the ball. Sherman is a high caliber player as reflected by his ranking on our site, while garnering interest still a team has yet to pull the trigger and I expect it to be sooner rather than later before he gets his first offer.

Huge boost in measurables. If Sherman really is up to 6’0 from 5’10, and up 185 from 170, his stock will be pushed further through the roof. I was enamored with Sherman’s freshman tape, ranking him a top-five DB prospect among 2027 PA underclassmen.
Sherman was on the receiving end of a Shepley seam ball that put Sherman in the end zone against Harrisburg. Sherman has consistently uploaded single-game cut-ups, as well as a cohesive mid-season tape, I applaud the effort in keeping up with his Hudl.
*Mid-season tape showcases the sophomore’s abilities as a kick returner, wideout, and safety. Comfortable in two-high sets, is a flash to a point once he diagnoses. Can double as a safety who can come downhill and fill the alley in support of the run, as well as a safety who can rotate over top and play center field. An advanced understanding of route concepts and can key these concepts on the fly. Is a seam and post neutralizer, especially when aligned in single-high sets. This is a future Division One defensive back, especially if his measurables hold true. Sherman’s wideout and return reps are icing on the cake. As easily he can take away the middle of the field from his safety spot, he can attack the middle via his slot alignment on offense. Fun player to watch.

STANDOUT TRAIT ON TAPE: Fearlessnes, Brains/IQ
I could write an essay on this young man’s tape. On a list of kids whose potentials might be through the roof, I could make the case that there aren’t 30 freshman in Pennsylvania with better varsity tape. The first thing that cathes your eye on tape is the young man’s fearlessness. Primaries as a single-high safety, Sherman can test seams and TE targets crossing his face, making any target feel all 170-pounds of his body weight. A missile, this young man’s R&R skills are that of an upperclassmen. I don’t see freshmen reading passing concepts like this on the fly. Sherman’s ability to find the football through traffic is incredible, you’d think he has 3-4 years experience filling the alley and helping out in run support. Kid is in the right place at the right time, and attacks each play as if the coaching staff is in his ear. Awesome tackling form, will win open field 1v1s. It says enough that the Cumberland Valley coaching staff trusts him enough to play single-high at this stage in his career. His production on offense and special teams is icing on the cake. Sherman will likely place well among 2027 DBs moving forward. Exemplary secondary play, both against the run and pass.

played free safety for Cumberland Valley last year. He played at a very high level for a Freshman getting his 1st varsity snaps. Sherman played really deep for a safety but has the speed to still come up and make plays. Sherman does a good job coming upfield and making tackles. He is adept at making ankle tackles on ball carriers in the open field. Sherman also made several pass breakups with deep passes thrown his way. I expect Sherman to be an even bigger contributor next year for Cumberland Valley.

when he balled out at the Prospect Future showcase in May:
Sherman shined on both sides of the ball at the Pennsylvania PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp as a wide receiver and a defensive back. Sherman measured in at 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds at the camp and showed why he’s the reigning Capital Football Association (CFA) Offensive Player of the Year. Good ball skills.

is a prospect who burst onto my radar recently, after a big eighth-grade season in Pennsylvania. Sherman will head to Cumberland Valley High School next year, just 20 minutes from the state capitol of Harrisburg. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Wide Receiver/Athlete had a big year for the Eagles, earning the Offensive Player of the Year award in the National Conference of the CFA Football League. Though his team came up a bit short in the championship game, Sherman opened a lot of eyes with his play. He showed the ability to consistently run past Defensive Back’s on deep routes throughout the season. That same burst of speed allowed Cumberland Valley to get creative with Sherman, even lining him up in the backfield for direct snaps. In fact, in the aforementioned championship game, he took a direct snap 72-yards to paydirt leaving everyone else on the field in his dust with the closest defender being 20+ yards away when he crossed the goal line.
