I spent the tournament watching the 18u teams with Vic and as we continued to push out content and top performances with analysis from the weekend what stood out at the 18u tournament was how many young guys were able to step up and perform with top talent who are soon to be graduating and with college teams next fall.
Below is an overview of some of the top performances throughout the weekend from prospects in the 2027 class (Currently HS Freshman)
Quarterbacks
This was my first exposure to Charlie Foulke IV Charlie Foulke IV 6’2″ | 185 lbs | QB St. Joseph’s Prep | 2027 State PA of St. Joe’s Prep and the 2027 QB Prospect was one of the top quarterbacks overall let alone being a top 2027 performer this past weekend. Foulke IV was one of the few quarterbacks at the tournament who was consistently able to utilize the entire field consistently. Foulke IV was good at working in the rhythm of the system and consistently got passes out quickly and on time. I was impressed with Foulke IV’s work in the red zone utilizing the back corner of the end zone and showcasing level 1 and level 2 throws in tight windows. Foulke IV showcased some good short-area and intermediate throws and stood out as one of the more confident arms at the tournament.

One of the youngest yet most anticipated attendees William Wood William Wood 6’2″ | 195 lbs | QB Xaverian Brothers | 2027 State New E was a really solid performer for the New England/Florida Outlawz. Splitting time at QB Wood had some very impressive drives and showcased one of the best arms at the Pennsylvania 7v7 Classic. Wood’s arm talent is what separates him from other QBs when you watch him throw. With a very quick release and the ability to generate impressive velocity on the ball, Wood can deliver the ball extremely quickly. Wood also showcases some well-developed footwork for a 2027 QB where he showcases an efficient short step with his front foot and the ability to have his feet, hips, and upper body move in such a smooth pure motion is some high-level stuff.
Check out some of Wood’s throws in the video below.
Highlights
Aaron Pegues Aaron Pegues 5’11” | 160 lbs | QB Farrell | 2027 State PA was a solid performer this past weekend and the 27 QB prospect out of Farrell was not afraid to push the ball down the field. I was impressed by Pegues arm talent and the confidence he has to make throws with anticipation. Pegues displayed good confidence for a QB his age and was not afraid to trust his WRs to make plays down the field. Pegues showed some natural arm talent with the ability to throw level 1 balls on a line but also put some air under his throws and execute level 3 balls at a high level.
Check out one of Pegues’ big-time throws below.
Another 2027 St. Joe’s Prep QB prospect, Kendall Jackson Kendall Jackson QB St. Joseph’s Prep | 2027 PA played one of the two teams St. Joe’s brought split time at QB, and in the reps, he showcased some impressive throws. Jackson did a lot of his work targeting the middle of the field, he showcased the ability to hit guys in stride and was more often than not getting the ball out quickly. Jackson made 1-2 throws to the sideline where he showcased very impressive anticipation and ball placement. There were also a couple of reps where Jackson threw on the run and his athleticism is evident in his ability to move and how smooth he looks throwing on the run. Jackson was a solid performer who had a couple standout throws this past weekend.
Skill Positions
Strand was easily one of the most talented two-way players in the tournament and his youth makes it all that more impressive. The 2027 prospect out of Loomis Chaffee was with Syracuse Elite this past weekend and he showcased a large catch radius as a target offensively and the ability to use burst and acceleration out of his breaks to make plays defensively. Strand has a huge frame at 6’4 nearly 210+ and he uses every bit of his size to his advantage as a WR. Strand uses his body well to have good positioning on the ball in contested catch situations and uses his strength to fight through DB/LBs attempts to re-route him over the middle of the field. Strand showed good football instincts defensively and was one of the most athletic two-way players on the field both days.
Brandon Lockley Jr who is a really big LB prospect already in terms of recruitment and his size had what I thought was one of the most consistent performances of any LB prospect this past weekend. Lockley Jr moves extremely well and he showcased a good change of direction in coverage consistently. Lockley Jr was consistently lined up all over the field and able to impact plays at the catch point. What separates Lockley not only from other 2027s but all the other LBs in this tournament is his play speed. Lockley Jr plays the game faster than nearly every LB I have seen at 7v7 tournaments and it is a testament to his instincts and his ability to read, react, and execute from the position.
