The Prep Super League recently announced the 12 cities participating in the new six-week spring football league designed to boost exposure and NIL opportunities for high school prospects.

Denver is one of the cities listed for the new league, making Colorado home to the new Mile High Prep football team. What sets Mile High Prep apart from the rest of the teams in the league is the purchase of the franchise by the UPSWING Foundation last year, making Mile High Prep the only team not organized and run by the league.

With the league focusing on building rosters with some of the nation's top-rated prospects, Mile High Prep quickly began its invite-only selection process by going after and landing some of the top names in the state. So far, Mile High Prep has announced the commitment of some of Colorado's top players over the last couple of weeks, including five elite prospects with rapidly growing recruiting stocks.

One of the earlier and more notable commits is the state's leading passer for two consecutive seasons and the recent Gatorade Player of the Year, [player_tooltip player_id='232153' first='Austyn' last='Modrzewski'] (2025) from Mountain Vista. Modrzewski currently holds offers from Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky, and he is one of two quarterbacks committed to the team.

The first big-time defensive recruit to announce his commitment was defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='283707' first='Tufanua' last='Ionatana Umu-Cais'] (2026) from Cherry Creek. Umu-Cais earned his first offer from Colorado following his freshman season and has since added offers from Kansas, Central Michigan, and Iowa State.

Another highly-recruited defender committed to the spring team is [player_tooltip player_id='504133' first='Jaxon' last='Pyatt'] (2026), a linebacker from Arvada West. Pyatt holds a handful of offers that include Ole Miss, UNC Charlotte, Syracuse, Bowling Green, and UConn.

One of the state's top defenders in the 2025 class was recently announced as an addition to the team. Denver East's [player_tooltip player_id='504785' first='DJ' last='Crowe'] (2025) has stood out since his freshman year and completed his junior season with the most sacks in 5A, third in state. He currently holds an offer from CSU-Pueblo, but his stock will undoubtedly skyrocket in the early stages of this new spring season.

The most recent commitment announcement was published this morning, confirming the participation of [player_tooltip player_id='283697' first='Camden' last='Jensen'] (2026) from Heritage.
