Blanchard was a receiver that was impressive at WR but made this list because when coaches asked for a couple players to come help give the OL a look, he was the first person to jump over. If he would have worked with DL I personally think he would have walked away with MVP. He was explosive off of the edge and has quick hands, being able to smack the OL hands down and power them out of the way. He had surprisingly a bag of moves that he was able to utilize and got to the QB on every attempt. He even moved to the inside and was still able to dominate. He would be a stock watch player on the edge if he decides to make the move to full time.

Blanchard continues to be a player making a name for himself this year and will be a player that will turn heads this summer. He was able to get in the end zone for his team and will be a mismatch problem for backers with his route running ability and being able to make catches in traffic. He is a player that I am excited to see climb the rankings this summer with his ability to make an impact in the running game but also what he can do in open space.

Blanchard leads the list of players who are poised to make a leap. Blanchard had a nice junior season, accounting for 27 catches for 376 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has all the intangibles needed to excel at tight end. He has a big body at 6’4 225 pounds which he uses to overpower defenders. Blanchard has very good athletic ability due to elite acceleration, very good speed, jumping and change of direction. He demonstrates good mental processing by sitting in zone voids, or coming back to his QB in the scramble drill. He will also reach out and extend himself for extra yards. He has good release, and will fight through the press jam. Blanchard has good separation quickness, and uses his very good athletic ability to consistently out run defenders for the big gain. Good catching and very good ball tracking skills. He’ll use his lengthy arms to pluck the ball out of the air. Very good body control. He’s able to keep his feet in bounds at the side of the endzone for a touchdown while adjusting above to catch. Gains yards after the catch by being physical and or using his home run speed. As a blocker he excels. He has very good strength and throws the defensive lineman down with ease. He uses a low pad level in combination with good hand placement to out leverage and move his defender. Smooth transition from 1 block to the next. Blanchard is a name to watch out for, who deserves more recognition for his play.

Blanchard is a player with good field awareness, he can go up and snag the ball near the side and still get his feet down to compete the catch. He has the speed to pull away from defenders when he makes it into the open field being a homerun threat whenever he touches the ball. He is able to set the edge in the running game or can climb to the second level picking up blocks.

Blanchard is a known tight end who had an impressive performance during the showcase. He has good size and athleticism, which was on full display during the combine portion of the day. His physical route running and surehandedness make him an ideal target for QBs. Blanchard is a prospect who should have an invite from every college in the area.
