Expert Analysis
Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Gordon brings a balanced offensive threat with the ability to make every throw and strategically open up Castle View’s run game. With a deep arsenal of receivers who can create mismatches, Gordon will be tasked with getting the ball to his playmakers early and often. His excellent anticipation allows him to read defenses and put his receivers in position to capitalize on size advantages. In high-stakes situations, he’ll need to trust his arm and take calculated risks, giving his receivers a chance to come down with the ball. If Gordon can establish a quick passing rhythm, Castle View’s offense could be nearly unstoppable, paving the way for a strong opening-round showing.

is a QB to watch. Gordon led his team to an 8-4 record and won a playoff game as well. Throughout the season, he threw for 1811 yards with 21 TD, 5 INT, with a 73.6% completion rate. Gordon has the archetype of a pocket passer. He measures in at 6’1 190 pounds. Gordon has good throw power and is able to make all the throws needed. Gordon has a very good zippy release, allowing him to fit the ball into tight coverages down the field. He keeps his feet parallel to his shoulders allowing for a compact throwing motion. Gordon has very good accuracy at all 3 levels. With deep passes, he throws a good high arching ball for only his receiver to catch. Very good ball placement. He’ll lead the WRs with the ball, and keep the receiver in stride. He will throw it right on the money into the WR’s strike zone. Will throw high point balls above his WR, out of range of the DB. Good play-action fake to fool the defense. Under pressure, Gordon excels at it. He stays poised in the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield. When the pocket starts to collapse, he uses his athleticism to scramble out and direct traffic. When the pocket becomes compromised, he has the ability to sit on his back foot and make accurate throws. Very impressive. Very good mental processing. He will progress through his reads, and find the open guy. If no one’s open, he will check it down to his RB. He doesn’t try to force throws. He’s a competitor too. Multiple times when Castle View’s offense would run the wildcat formation, he’d be used as a blocker. He’d be running down the field getting physical with defenders making blocks for the ball carrier to run behind. That is a perfect example of his competitive toughness. I’m excited to see more of what he can do next season.

Gordon is a must-know player who should be added to the radar. He has a big-time arm with the ability to put enough distance on the ball with the right amount of air that allows his receivers to run underneath the ball and make the catch in stride. His awareness in the pocket is very impressive. He does an excellent job of avoiding stagnant feet and not holding onto the ball too long. He is a solid athlete with the mobility needed to extend plays and run for yards when needed. Gordon is a smart decision-maker who avoids taking unnecessary risks, making him a potential sleeper.
