As things are right now heading into the Fall season, the junior crop of quarterbacks have yet to take shape, meaning opportunity is there for several guys to jump into the mix and become top college prospects. Brentwood Academy passer George MacIntyre George MacIntyre 6'5" | 190 lbs | QB Brentwood Academy | 2025 State TN is the clear cut #1 quarterback prospect in the junior class but after him, nobody else is established.
Much will change over the next year as several quarterbacks will mature and evolve into college level prospects while moving up into our rankings. New gunslingers will pop up and join the junior class as well, so the landscape for the quarterbacks will be different come this time next year.
MacIntyre is the clear cut number one quarterback for the #TN2025 class and currently, the #1 ranked over prospect with just about every Power Five program in pursuit. Looking over the 6’5 passer and watching his film, you can see why the Eagles junior quarterback is wanted by everybody. MacIntyre is a pure passer with natural athletic abilities and the right arm to make all throws of a Power Five and possible future NFL quarterback. He is also a gamer that showed last season the ability to lead his offense on big drives during critical moments of games and leading the Eagles to victories. There is no question who the top in-state quarterback is for the 2025 class and that will not change moving forward!
Highlights
Coming in ranked 2nd for the 2025 quarterbacks, Shaffer is a guy that does not have much film and some may wonder why he is up this high but I’ve seen enough clips on this Mid-Tennessee signal caller to say he will become an eventual Power Five, D1 player. He spins a beautiful football that shows zip along with the arm strength needed to make all the proper throws. The ball just explodes out of Shaffer’s hand, so he can put on ya quick, which is something that translates very well to the next level. The Mustangs rising junior is also well built physically with good enough athleticism to maneuver the pocket, keeping away from the pass rush. Much is left to learn about Shaffer as he doesn’t have many meaningful snaps yet but the upside is definitely there to become an eventual college level quarterback.
Many people may not know too much about this junior passer but McDonald is legit and he brings a lot of physical abilities and traits that translate well to the collegiate gridiron. Standing 6’4 190 plus pounds, McDonald has the size to compete in the college game but he also has that big right arm to succeed as well. What I like most about the Panthers junior quarterback is his mechanics, arm strength and ability to deliver the ball with timing and zip. McDonald also stands strong in the pocket, always keeping his eyes down field, looking to complete the pass. Coming from a small town, McDonald won’t compete against top level teams but trust me this guy can throw it with the best of the best from the #TN2025 class.
Highlights
Much like his teammate at Lipscomb Academy, Kilburg has little experience thus far in his high school career but the talent is there and college coaches have already taken notice. A big guy behind center, Kilburg has the physical makeup to compete on the next level along with the passing tools to sustain but needs time to continue developing before he reaches his maximum capabilities. Kilburg has definitely been after it this off-season, hitting up as many camps as possible to learn but also display his potential. It will be a battle with Shaffer to see who will lead the Mustangs this season but Kilburg has the chops to become the guy and push his stock even further.
Highlights
Recently adding his first college offer from Eastern Ky, Edmondson is a name to follow over the next few years as he is quietly establishing himself as one of the best at his position from the East TN region. The Rams junior passer is a big dude in the pocket that stands strong, always looking to deliver the ball down field. He brings a big arm to the field along with sound mechanics but also a calm presence while in the face of the pass rush. Edmondson shows the upside to make all the throws asked for on the next level but must continue developing his mobility in the pocket along with continued enhancement with the game of football. Expect to see many more offers come his way over time with continued development and work.

It’s finally time for this 6’5 gunslinger to take full reins of the Golden Bears offense this coming Fall and it should be a breakout party for Travers, who has the makeup and arm talent to see his recruiting stock soar. This is a big dude that handles the pocket well with deceptive athleticism but it’s how the ball explodes out of his hand that has me and collegiate coaches intrigued with his upside. Travers has a big arm that shows flashes of being able to make all the college, NFL level throws but continued all-around work must continue for this Mid-Tennessee thrower to get there. This prospect will certainly be at the top of my list as guys to follow this Fall and watch his progress because the upside is big.

Hicks has been a guy that I’ve been following for two years now and I think he is finally coming into own after seeing him spin it in person this off-season to the point where I believe he is on track to become an eventual college quarterback. Well built physically with a strong right arm, Hicks shows the mechanics and arm talent to excel on the next level with continued work along with deceptive athleticism and mobility. The Buccaneers junior pass takes his craft seriously as he puts in work consistently not just on his body but his football knowledge as well. Sporting the work ethic that he does, Hicks is a guy that I can see develop at a high rate over the next year, establishing himself as a top QB prospect from the East TN region.

Watch List ….
– Kam Alexander Kam Alexander 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Bartlett | 2025 TN – Bartlett: Sporting good size and athleticism, Alexander has the tools to develop into a recruitable prospect (Holds a UT-Martin offer). He just needs more experience and time under center to develop his game further.
– Cash Bandy Cash Bandy 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Cleveland | 2025 TN – Notre Dame: Bandy is a mobile guy behind center with good size and solid arm strength. He has experience as a starter for the Fighting Irish and the upside to continue developing into a future FCS prospect.
– Jakoby Cox Jakoby Cox 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Kenwood | 2025 TN – Kenwood: All sort of potential and upside resides here with this Clarksville area quarterback. Standing 6”5 190 pounds, Cox is a big presence behind center with a big arm that screams a future on the collegiate gridiron.
– Kyler Creasy – Oakland: The future of the Patriots offense resides here with Creasy. The rising junior has yet to take many significant snaps but Creasy has primed himself several years for this starting job, so keep an eye on this dual threat quarterback moving forward.
– Chandler Day Chandler Day 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Houston | 2025 TN – Houston: A dual threat lefty with a big future on the baseball diamond, Day had a bit of a breakthrough season last year, putting up big numbers while establishing himself as a possible Mr. Football candidate for the coming Fall season.
– Trey Frazier Trey Frazier 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB West Ridge | 2025 TN – West Ridge: Frazier has the college look/size you want in a quarterback and he has starting experience. A mobile guy who shows solid mechanics on film, Frazier must continue to add more arm strength to reach the next level but the upside is there.
– Landen Hensley Landen Hensley 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Anderson Co. | 2025 TN – Campbell Co.: Last year as a sophomore, Hensley put up strong numbers while leading his team to the playoffs. Next step for this East TN passer to continue enhancing his game by adding more strength while learning his reads further.
– Brady Hughes Brady Hughes 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB MUS | 2025 TN – MUS: This West TN passer could be the next guy on this list to jump into the official rankings as Hughes has the look and passing tools to reach the college game. All that is lacking is game experience but that is expected to change this coming Fall.
– Jayden Neal Jayden Neal 5'11" | 195 lbs | QB Knox. Catholic | 2025 TN – Knox. Catholic: A strong armed passer who put up big numbers last year, Neal is on pace to put himself in contention for Mr. Football by the time he leaves Knox. Catholic while also boosting his stock into a possible FCS recruit.
– Blake Owen Blake Owen 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Cookeville | 2025 TN – Cookeville: Owen comes from a strong athletic family that has put two brothers at Brown over the past few years and this rising junior might be the most athletic of them all. The Cavs junior prospect is developing nicely at quarterback but has the build and tools to develop at linebacker as well.
