It was another steady performance from this 6’6 senior passer against a solid Antioch defense. Travers had a few challenges as the Bears presented an athletic defense but after getting a feel for them early, this Golden Bears quarterback did a good job of taking what the defense gave him and moving his offense with efficiency. He produced two scores on the night with his first one coming on the ground then next one being a 2nd half touchdown pass then sealed the win. His numbers may not be spectacular from this game but Travers’ calm demeanor and his ability to make winning plays was a nice recipe in a big non-region victory.

The Golden Bears were clean and efficient for most of the night on offense with their captain and signal caller in Travers setting the tone early and continuing his accurate passing throughout his team’s big region road win over Cookeville. I don’t have the official stats as of now but I know Travers threw for three touchdowns with very little incompletions. He was outstanding in this road victory by doing his job as a passer but also a leader that understood the game plan and executed it flawlessly. Committed to Limestone at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some bigger schools get involved before he signs because Travers stock is going up with performances like Friday night and what he can continue to do the remainder of the season.

Coming in ranked 5th among the quarterbacks, Travers is one guy on this list that could push himself into the Top Four while competing for D1 opportunities. The Golden Bears senior signal caller has the size and arm power to compete on the next level but could raise his stock even further with continued development with his footwork and mechanics. If you’re looking for a quarterback that throws with power and zip, Travers is your guy! It will be interesting to see how he progresses this off-season and into his senior year because this 6 ‘5 passer can not only boost his own stock but also place his Golden Bears team in contention for a Class 5A state title.
