The second round of the playoffs is in the books and we saw quite a few big performances that stood out across the state. Every Sunday throughout the year, we put a spotlight on some of the top performers from across Oklahoma. Throughout the playoffs, that will remain the same. STATS: 13-20 | 310 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 8 Carries | 77 Yards | 3 TouchdownsrnHeritage Hall took care of Stigler on Friday to advance to the semifinal round yet again. Junior quarterback Andy Bass Andy Bass 6’0″ | 195 lbs | ATH Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK had one of his best games of the year as he threw for over 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns and he also added 77 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. With nearly 400 yards of total offense and five touchdowns on the night, Bass has become a true dual-threat at the quarterback position. With Bass leading an explosive offense, the Chargers are looking to punch their tickets to Edmond as they square off with Verdigris in the semifinals.

STATS: 7 Catches | 83 Yards | 3 TouchdownsrnDeer Creek’s passing game was lights out as the Antlers punched their ticket to the semifinals for the second consecutive year as they look for another trip to the state title game. Deer Creek took care of a talented Booker T Washington squad and we could have put a spotlight on several players from the passing game. But senior wide receiver Berkley Dalton Berkley Dalton 5’10” | 175 lbs | WR Deer Creek | 2023 OK stood out as he finished with over 83 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Deer Creek now turns their attention to a semifinal showdown with top-ranked Stillwater as the winner will move on to the title game.
STATS: 39 Carries | 318 Yards | 5 TouchdownsrnFairview remained one of the unbeaten teams in Oklahoma as they dominated in the second round on Friday night. Fairview has been led by senior running back Blake Perez Blake Perez 6’0″ | 190 lbs | RB Fairview | 2023 State OK over the last few seasons and he was outstanding once again on Friday night. He put in a workhorse performance with nearly 40 carries on the night and he would finish with over 300 yards and five touchdowns. Up next for Fairview is a quarterfinal game with Stroud. Class A is incredibly competitive this season with several undefeated teams and true state title contenders. Fairview is one of them.
STATS: 6 Catches | 95 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 2 Punt Return Touchdowns | 1 Forced & Recovered FumblernFor about the 39th time this season, Cushing senior Camden Crooks Camden Crooks 6’0″ | 190 lbs | WR Cushing | 2023 State OK has earned a spot as a “Top Performer” following his performance on Friday night. Crooks caught a pair of touchdowns and also had nearly 100 yards receiving in the win. He also returned not one, but two punts 50+ yards for touchdowns and he forced and recovered a fumble on the defensive side of the ball. Crooks has been one of the top players in the state all year and now Cushing turns their attention to a playoff rematch with Elk City, the team that beat them in the first round last year.

STATS: 29 Carries | 343 Yards | 4 TouchdownsrnYou can make the argument that there isn’t another player playing better football right now than Chandler senior running back Casmen Hill Casmen Hill 5’11” | 175 lbs | RB Chandler | 2023 State OK . In their second round victory, Hill went off again for nearly 350 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries. In Chandler’s last three games, Hill has just shy of 1,000 yards. Think about that for a second. He is over 2,500 yards for the season and continues to climb the all time rushing leaderboard as he’s now in the top ten. Up next for Hill and Chandler is a quarterfinal clash with Victory Christian on Friday night.
STATS: 9-17 | 132 Yards | 29 Carries | 147 Yards | 4 TouchdownsrnJones moved on to the quarterfinals with a close win over Community Christian in the second round. Junior quarterback Clayton Creasey Clayton Creasey 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Jones | 2024 State OK finished with over 100 yards passing but it’s what he did on the ground that was more impactful. Creasey finished with nearly 150 yards and four touchdowns on the ground as he finished with nearly 30 carries on the night. Creasey and the Longhorns are clicking on all cylinders as they’ve now won nine games in a row following an 0-3 start. The Longhorns will play Kiefer in the quarterfinals after the Trojans upset Vian on Friday.
STATS: 23 Carries | 199 Yards | 2 TouchdownsrnWashington continued their pursuit of a third straight trip to the championship game when they survived a second round scare from Oklahoma Christian School. Leading the way once again was senior running back Cole Scott Cole Scott 5’11” | 190 lbs | RB Washington | 2023 State OK . He finished with nearly 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Warriors moved on to the quarterfinal round, where they’ll see Idabel, who is feeling good following a road win over Beggs. Scott and the Warriors had to settle for the silver ball in their last two trips to the title game. They are hungrier than ever to finish the job in Edmond this season.

STATS: 16-17 | 245 Yards | 5 TouchdownsrnWe’ve written about Bixby senior quarterback Connor Kirby Connor Kirby 6’2″ | 190 lbs | ATH Bixby | 2023 State OK and specifically how much his passing has improved but he was nearly perfect throwing the ball as Bixby rolled to a quarterfinal win over Enid. Kirby threw for nearly 250 yards and five touchdowns and completed 16 of his 17 passes on the night. He completed nearly 95 percent of his passes as Bixby is once again back in the semifinal round and they are looking for their ninth consecutive state championship game appearance. Standing in the way is a rematch with Jenks, the same team that ended their winning streak just a few weeks ago.
STATS: 8-11 | 203 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 12 Carries | 205 Yards | 3 TouchdownsrnHominy remained undefeated on the season and once again, one of the big reasons was junior quarterback Jaxon Woods Jaxon Woods 6’0″ | ATH Hominy | 2024 State OK , who has become one of the top overall players in the state this season. In their second round victory, Woods finished with just over 200 yards and two touchdowns on 8-11 passing. He turned around and also added just over 200 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Woods is getting closer and closer to joining a very elusive club of players with over 2,000 yards passing and another 2,000 yards rushing. They face Hooker in the quarterfinals.
STATS: 5 Catches | 159 Yards | 4 TouchdownsrnSimilar to Hill at Chandler, you can make the argument that there isn’t a wide receiver that’s been more productive in their last two games compared to Union junior Jino Boyd Jino Boyd 6’0″ | WR Union | 2024 State OK . The Union standout finished with over 150 yards and four touchdowns on just five receptions as Union rolled to a quarterfinal win over Broken Arrow. Boyd now has eight touchdown catches in his last two games and the Union offense will look to continue that this week when they face off with Owasso in the semifinals on Friday night. Boyd and Union is looking for a second straight trip to Edmond.
STATS: 15-21 | 177 Yards | 17 Carries | 150 Yards | 3 Total TouchdownsrnOwasso punched their ticket to the semifinal round with an impressive road win over Norman North. Leading the way was senior quarterback Mason Willingham Mason Willingham 6’1″ | QB Owasso | 2023 State OK as the Rams took advantage of the fact that Norman North was without their star quarterback. Willingham was a true dual-threat weapon at the position with over 150 yards passing and then another 150 yards rushing. He also accounted for three total touchdowns on the night. Now, Willingham and the Rams turn their attention to a rematch from the regular season. They’ll face top-ranked Union in the semifinals on Friday night.
STATS: 5-6 | 132 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 18 Carries | 208 Yards | 5 Touchdowns | 8 TacklesrnDown in Class A, Gore remained undefeated and finally got over the Woodland hump. They beat a Woodland team that had eliminated them in the last few years, including an upset last year. Leading the way was quarterback Noah Cooper Noah Cooper 6’2″ | 195 lbs | QB Coweta | 2024 OK . He threw for well over 100 yards and one touchdown but only had six passes on the night. The majority of his offensive production was on the ground with over 200 yards and five touchdowns on 18 carries. He also turned around and finished with eight tackles. Cooper and the Pirates have one of the best rushing attacks in the state.
STATS: 21-32 | 313 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 1 Rushing TouchdownrnOne of the best wins from the second week of the playoffs had to be Bishop McGuinness going on the road and hand Coweta their first loss and punch their ticket to the semifinal round. Junior quarterback River Warren River Warren 6’4″ | 195 lbs | QB Del City | 2024 State OK had an excellent game as the Irish moved on. He finished with just over 300 yards and four touchdowns on 21-32 passing. He also had a rushing touchdown as he accounted for all five touchdowns on the night. Bishop McGuinness now moves on to face McAlester in the semifinals as they look for their first title game appearance since 2020.
STATS: 23-29 | 449 Yards | 6 TouchdownsrnChoctaw would get challenged by Sand Springs early on but once the flip switched on offense, the Yellowjackets weren’t going to be stopped. Senior quarterback and Akron commit Steele Wasel Steele Wasel 6’4″ | 210 lbs | QB Choctaw | 2023 State OK had one of his best performances of his impressive career. He would throw for nearly 450 yards and six touchdowns on 23-29 passing. Wasel and the Yellowjackets have been very impressive this season but the goal remains very simple. They want to make it back to Edmond and contend for a state championship. Up next is a game with Muskogee in the semifinals.
STATS: 6 Carries | 115 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 3 Catches | 36 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 6 Tackles | 2 InterceptionsrnMetro Christian made quick work of Cascia Hall in the quarterfinal round as they absolutely rolled to the semifinals. The senior duo of Tagg Campbell Tagg Campbell 5’10” | DB Metro Christian | 2023 State OK and Metro quarterback Kirk Francis Kirk Francis 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Metro Christian | 2023 State OK was clicking on all cylinders from the start. Campbell would run for over 100 yards and a touchdown on just six carries. He also had two touchdown receptions, six tackles and two interceptions. Campbell had an outstanding sequence where came up with an interception near the goal line, keeping Cascia out of the end zone. Then on the next play, he went 96 yards for a touchdown.
