Coweta was right back in the mix for the district crown this season and that exceeded our preseason expectations. But it shouldn’t come as a surprise considering who was leading their offense. Senior quarterback Noah Cooper Noah Cooper 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Coweta | 2024 OK moved to Coweta after helping lead Gore all the way to the Class A state championship game a season ago. Cooper and the Pirates had to settle for the silver ball last season but he brings plenty of big game experience into the playoffs this season. Cooper was another example of a dual-threat quarterback to watch as the playoffs begin.

The quarterback position was the only question mark coming into this season after they lost their starting quarterback from the last few seasons. It was the one position that the Pirates didn’t have a returner coming back. Gore junior quarterback Noah Cooper Noah Cooper 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Coweta | 2024 OK stepped into the role and he excelled in the position. While the Pirates are definitely a run-first offense and Cooper was part of that, he also showcased his arm quite a bit this season. Cooper threw for nearly 1,500 yards and 21 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions on the season. But Cooper has also run for over 1,100 yards and 19 touchdowns on the season. With Cooper coming back next season and the Pirates losing quite a few players on offense, we think that Cooper will become a massive star in this offense as he’ll have to do more with less experience around him.
