is the latest example of the Jones quarterback pipeline. This program is one of the state’s absolute best at producing quarterbacks that excel and end up at the next level. After backing up D1 signee Carson May and playing a different position, Creasey would take over at QB1 and was one of the state’s best. Creasey is a very athletic quarterback that didn’t have to lean on that athleticism by becoming a run-first quarterback. Creasey would use that skillset to extend plays and always kept his eyes down field. It feels like Creasey’s best football is ahead of him at UCO.

Jones is in a similar situation to Lincoln Christian where they just produce quarterback after quarterback and routinely have one of the best quarterbacks in the state. This year is no different with senior standout

and he’s in his second year as QB1 of the Longhorns. Last year, he enjoyed a breakout season with Jones as he replaced another star quarterback in Carson May. This season, he really impressed us earlier in the season when we saw him in person against that 3A powerhouse Lincoln Christian. Creasey put up strong numbers as a passer and as a runner and that has been exactly what we’ve seen from him last season and this fall, both on film and in the stat line. Before that showdown with Lincoln Christian, Creasey announced his commitment to UCO.

One of the best games in Class 2A this week will see #3 Jones traveling to face a 6-1 Chandler team that is knocking on the door of the 2A rankings. This is a match-up that has two of the better senior quarterbacks in the state, regardless of class. For the Longhorns, they’ll be led by senior

and he continues to be one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the class. Creasey has thrown for nearly 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns and he’s also added over 300 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground. The Longhorns are looking to lock up the district championship and Chandler is definitely a potential speed bump. Creasey and the Longhorns have bounced back in a major way from an early loss to 2A’s top-ranked Washington and a loss to 3A’s #2 Lincoln Christian in non-district play.

continued to show why he’s one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the state with a complete performance in the win. He threw for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 15-23 passing. But with Creasey, he’s always a threat to run the football and he finished with over 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Longhorns looked really good in their season opener and they’ll need that momentum as they play host to Lincoln Christian Friday before the week two showdown with top-ranked Washington.

lived up to the hype in his first season as QB1 for the Longhorns. In 2021, he was a running back and a backup to Carson May. Last season, Creasey threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns. And as a dual-threat quarterback, Creasey ended up leading the Longhorns in rushing as well. He would finish with over 600 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. Creasey is a prospect that we first saw towards the end of his freshman season. We anticipate him taking the next step this fall and leading a very explosive Jones offense

Similar to Lincoln Christian, it seems like all Jones has done over the last decade is produce high-caliber quarterback prospects and this year is no different.

enjoyed a breakout season last fall as he replaced Carson May, who signed at the D1 level out of high school. Creasey is an extremely athletic quarterback that put up some big numbers in the pass and run game last season for the Longhorns. It was apparent even when Creasey was backing up May and playing a different position as a sophomore that he was going to be the next guy in the long line of successful Jones quarterbacks and we saw a glimpse of that last season. Now, as we look ahead to the 2023 football season, we really like Creasey and the Longhorns in Class 2A. They bring almost everyone back and Creasey and this Jones offense is going to be tough to slow down. They’ll be a top contender and he’ll be one of the top QB’s in Class 2A this season.

, it’s hard not to see a very strong athlete playing the quarterback position. And going into the film review, we also knew that Creasey was one of the better athletes at the quarterback position considering he played running back as a sophomore while the Longhorns had Carson May at quarterback. Creasey’s first year at QB1 for the Longhorns was a good one as he helped Jones make a deep run in the playoffs despite a slow start against a brutal non-district schedule. The accuracy on Creasey’s deep balls down the field was very impressive as he was putting them on a dot most of the time. But it has to be the arm strength when you’re talking about Creasey’s best traits as a quarterback. The Jones junior was firing missiles into some windows that were very tight and he made the plays that had to be made, even against some of their toughest competition, like eventual state champion Washington. But like Bass, we’re curious if Creasey is a quarterback at the next level or will he eventually be moved to a different position. One area of improvement based on his junior film would be making more reads. There were a lot of plays where his first read is where the ball would go.

. He wasn’t stepping into an easy situation as he had to replace the best quarterback in the state’s 2022 class in Carson May. But Creasey had already proven he can not only produce on the field but he could do it at a high level. Creasey played different positions within the offense as a sophomore and then took over at quarterback as a junior. Creasey is also similar to Bass as he’s one of the more athletic quarterbacks in the state’s 2024 class. And just like with Bass, we want to continue to watch Creasey progress as a passer. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned when it comes to the Jones program, they can produce quarterbacks. And Creasey did produce at a high level as a junior. We’re looking forward to seeing what he does for an encore later on this fall.
