About Jose

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as physical and hardworking. I’m a power back, so I like running downhill, protecting the ball, and fighting for extra yards. I also try to do my job even when I don’t have the ball, whether that means blocking, helping my teammates, or doing what my coaches ask.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my mentality as hardworking, respectful, and determined. I’m constantly in the gym trying to get stronger, faster, and better because I know nothing is given. I was raised to have manners, listen to my coaches, and treat people with respect. I’m competitive on the field, but I’m also coachable and always willing to learn.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Right now, I’m focused on being the best student-athlete I can be. I take school seriously and currently have a 3.5 GPA. I may not have a long list of awards yet, but I’m working hard in the classroom and trying to represent myself, my family, and my school the right way.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Football has helped me learn discipline, teamwork, leadership, and responsibility. I’ve learned how important it is to listen to coaches, encourage teammates, and do my part for the team. I try to lead by example, stay respectful, and work hard even when nobody is watching.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I have faced is feeling like I have to prove myself every time I step on the field. I play with a chip on my shoulder because I know people may overlook me, but I use that as motivation instead of letting it bother me. I stay in the gym, keep working, and push myself every day to show that I belong. I know nothing is given, so I’m willing to earn every opportunity I get.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can grow as a student, athlete, and young man. I want a school with strong academics, good coaches, and a football program where hard work matters. I’m looking for a place where I can be pushed, supported, and given the chance to earn my opportunity.
