However, there are at least 20 prospects in this class that already have verbal scholarship offers. Furthermore, there are hundreds of athletes in this class that nobody has even heard of yet, that WILL be scholarship players down the line. Here’s a look at some to take note of, very early.
-Suited up as QB1 this past season for Oxford Middle School in Alabama this past year. Oxford is a talent-rich program that turns out next-level prospects annually, so quite impressive for a 2028 prospect to start.
-Does a nice job of moving the pocket, whether it be on purpose or out of necessity, and keeping his eyes downfield to make a play. Would label him a dual-threat, but he certainly looks to pass more on film.
-Was a family affair this past season. Maddox was coached by his Uncle at OMS, and played alongside his cousin TE/DE Beau Mims Beau Mims 6’3″ | 175 lbs | TE Oxford | 2028 AL . Beau is also a 2028 prospect, that we highlighted a few weeks ago.
Highlights
-An absolute technician at the Cornerback position and one of the most fundamentally-sound 2028 prospects you’ll find in the country at this point.
-Gives up significant size but lines up each play like the he’s biggest, baddest dude on the block. In the next 6-12 months size will likely state to play a factor, but regardless, I’ll take a kid with an edge like Kent any day.
-Some kids are just flat out ball players. Has an incredible handle as a Point Guard in basketball, in football he has excellent quickness with the ball in his hands on offense and will go toe-to-toe with top WR’s on defense.
Highlights
-Really good-looking prospect I got to see live this summer as part of the North Carolina Future Stars team. Was the first, or one of the first, 2028 prospects that caught my eye.
-The length on Malloy is very impressive. At a hair under 5-foot-10 in just the seventh-grade, he already has a wingspan of 73 inches. While I don’t have verified numbers on a vertical, his limbs and springs are excellent.
-Extremely versatile Athlete for the Triad Elite Ducks. Does a borderline elite job as a “big corner” at this level but can also explode for big plays as a weapon on offense. Long term, I see a big time player in the Secondary.

-Size and length both literally, and figuratively, separate Darland from pack at this point. At 5-foot-10 and 155-pounds, he’s the ideal fit for the new “Edge” position that is being coveted at all level of football.
-A defensive standout on a Lexington Christian Middle School team, that earned the No.2 seed and a first round bye in KYMSFA 8th Grade Division 3 State Playoggs
-Comes from a strong football pedigree. His father, Todd, played at Murray State and has coached at the high school and middle school level since 1998. His brother, Mac, is a 2026 prospect on Varsity at LCA.
Highlights
-One of the top 5-10 class of 2028 Quarterbacks in the country that I’ve had the fortune of evaluating early in this scouting process
-Just a seventh-grader, he was been at the helm for the eighth-grade team at Washington Middle School in Oklahoma. Has a number of talented playmakers around him including 2027 prospects Case Alexander Case Alexander 6’2″ | 170 lbs | LB Washington | 2027 State OK , Rhett Dickerson and Gage Hunter.
-Makes even the most difficult throws look mundane. Whether throwing a dart across the middle on a slat, taking a deep shot with verticals, or adlibbing when flushed from the pocket–Barrett makes it look easy.
Highlights
-Austin, the greater Round Rock region specifically and essentially all of Central Texas is a very fertile recruiting area with a lot of big time football players. Phillips may be on the fast track to be next.
-It’s difficult to put into words what separates him from other kids, but he just moves different. A combination of speed, violence and toughness make him extremely gratifying to watch play the game of football.
-Spoke to a coach earlier this week who said he gets the same vibes and feelings watching Phillips run the ball, that he did/does about Bryan High School freshman, Javelan Wade. Wade was selected to the 2026 Prep Redzone Next National Watchlist last year before high school…Phillips looks like he could be on the same path.

-A reclassified prospect who is as physically sculpted and defined a seventh-grader, as I’ve ever seen in my years as scouting middle school ball
-His action-figure build isn’t just for show. Produced very impressive testing numbers last spring, highlighted by a 103-inch broad jump and nearly a 25-inch vertical. Powerful lower half allowed for big results
-Last season played for the OG Ducks out of Southern California and the lefty should have a nice variety to choose from, when selecting what high school he’ll line up for.
