Berry is a safety from DeMatha who excels in run support and perimeter coverage from the Rover position. He shows excellent closing speed and reaction time, consistently diagnosing swing passes and limiting gains with strong open-field tackling. Barry made multiple impactful plays near the line of scrimmage, including a touchdown-saving tackle and a hit that caused an incompletion. Berry’s film highlights his ability to trigger downhill quickly.

Thomas is part of a strong deep defensive back field at DeMatha and he will be a key piece to their defense this fall. He currently holds one offer from Delaware State, but I like his potential for this season. Berry could be one to garner plenty more offers and be a high riser come next rankings if he has the senior year I think he can.
Playing mainly SS and a nickel DB for DeMatha, Thomas offers positional versatility. He has good size and solid overall frame, looking the part with a 80″ wingspan. A strong tackler, he can make a spot in open field, run the alley, and play in the box. Berry is a solid overall athlete with good physical traits, so I can see him making more plays in coverage this year as he usage goes up. He will be a name to watch this fall and could be a big sleeper prospect in term of recruiting.
