He already has a college-ready frame. There’s no shame in not getting a ton of varsity reps in his case. There are a few veterans in front of him, so getting valuable reps on JV should help him develop.
Brody makes his debut as the #7 Edge defender after a freshman year where he came on stronger and stronger as the season went along. He split time between JV/Varsity last fall, but got more reps on varsity later in the year and into the playoffs. He’s got nice size at 6’4″ and a frame that is adding bulk by the month. Brody should fill out nicely over the years and can see him easily being a jacked up 230lbs+ down the line. He plays with good bend and pop of the snap. Strong enough to hold the edge, athletic enough to beat blockers with speed & hand work. Brody shows good hips as well. Able to re-direct, chase and pursue and play in space on the edge.
Look for Brody to move up the DeMatha depth chart and get more play as a sophomore. May have to still wait his turn a bit with how loaded the Stags are along the DL, but Brody will be on for the future that should continue to impress.
Freshman szn was a once in a life time experience! Happy to be apart of Dematha Catholic High school leading to be back to back WCAC champs! All glory to God.
