Sutherland has steadily improved during his time in high school. He’s developed into a college tight end as a reported scholarship offer from two-time FCS national champion South Dakota State would indicate. Sutherland is a stronger route runner now than this time a year ago. He’s also improved his strength, which has aided him become a more effective blocker. Kansas and some other bigger schools are evaluating Sutherland this season. They have to like what they see so far.

At the time, Sutherland was a raw but impressive looking sophomore athlete, based strictly on his size. Fast forward to this weekend and it looks like Sutherland has filled out the frame, become stronger and is a red zone nightmare for opponents because of his 6’6 frame. After doing some research, it looks like this is going to be a very busy offseason for Sutherland from camps to visits as he looks for his opportunity. There is a lot to like in his game moving forward. He has size and can move. Those things don’t always go together and Sutherland has both qualities.
