and the Iowa City High offensive line will be an anchor for the Little Hawks’ improvement after a down year for Mitch Moore and company.
Goodrich played much of this last season at left tackle for City High, protecting the backside of multiple quarterbacks. Fleet of foot, especially for his size, Goodrich moves well as a puller and gets out to plow the way on screen passes. Should he take a step forward this fall, become more violent as a run-blocker and take his down-man out of the play more consistently, Goodrich will have plenty of schools come calling.

Goodrich was one of the kids I was most looking forward to seeing when scouting the Little Hawks against Norwalk in Week 5 of the 2025 campaign. I’d heard good things about his game, and he was starting at left tackle as a sophomore. Goodrich did not disappoint. Matching up against a formidable Warrior defensive front, the 10th-grader performed at a high level. Goodrich stands out for his agility. That’s a great building block for a young player with his size. He can move and hit assignments in space. There’s physical and technical development ahead, but Goodrich is a prospect that should be on the radar of a lot of colleges, if he isn’t already.

A mauler up front that saw some time on the field as a true freshman for the Little Hawks, Goodrich will step into a full-time starting role this season on the left side of the offensive line. Goodrich is 6’5″ and 265 pounds, and still has plenty of weight to fill out on his already-large frame. The soon-to-be sophomore has begun to hear from the Kansas State coaching staff. Don’t be surprised if other offers start to roll in once coaches see what he’s capable of on tape. A nice young man, Goodrich has a mean streak on the football field that will be advantageous for City High this season.

Goodrich could make a lot of noise on the recruiting trail in the coming years. His older brothers, twins Avery and Ethan, play on the St. Thomas offensive line. Their younger sibling has a chance to follow in their footsteps of competing on the next level. He may have a higher ceiling than them, too. Lucas must build on his strong foundation, physically and technically. Look out if it all comes together.
