After a junior season at DePaul College Prep in Illinois that saw him throw for 1,738 yards and 18 touchdowns, Grabinksi was ranked the No. 12 Class of 2027 quarterback in the state by Prep Redzone. Since then, he transferred to Iowa City High and will be competing for the QB1 job this summer. In an interview with the school newspaper, Grabinski said his whole family graduated as Little Hawks and he wanted to do the same. The senior-to-be could boost a City High offense that also added a top-flight running back in the offseason and is returning a lot of talent. Grabinski looks the part during his 11th-grade highlight video. The first clip features him being flushed out of the pocket and eluding multiple defenders during a long scramble for a touchdown. It highlighted his speed and athleticism to make something out of nothing when a play goes off of schedule. Grabinski is comfortable and accurate throwing on the move, when he gets through his progressions efficiently. The arm strength is easy, whether he’s fitting the ball in tight windows underneath or stretching the field. Grabinski is an interesting new prospect in the state, and one to watch in 2026.

Grabinski is a 6’0″ 190 pound signal caller from DePaul Prep that has average arm strength, but makes up for it with his touch and mobility. Very good athleticism extending plays with his legs. Touch on the deep ball and over the middle. At times tends to throw too much off his back foot instead of transferring weight. Creative runner that can get out in the open field and make plays.

Grabinski did miss some time due to injury during his freshman season, but the 6’1″ 180 lbs QB made some impressive plays showing off his traits. In the short to intermediate levels Jackson is able to drive the football to his target on a rope. We saw him get passes off while off platform. Jackson is also a poised passer who will stand in the pocket or face pressure outside the pocket, set his feet, and get the ball out just before taking the hit. Take a look at the tape to get a quick sense of the freshman’s talent.
