is an imposing physical presence for City High. The Little Hawks may not have had the season they wanted to this fall, but Mensah’s size and power at right tackle will return for 2027 where they look to take a jump forward.
Technically sound with the ability to put defensive ends in the dirt, FCS programs in the Midwest should be all over Mensah with offers at this point — if anything, his size should be a major calling card for Division I staffs.

I was thoroughly impressed with Mensah during in-person scouts last season. It was great to get another viewing of him during a contest against Norwalk in Week 5 of the 2025 campaign. He still looked the part from a physical standpoint. The difference was his improved consistency and sharpened skill set. You could see work was involved in development. Simply put, he’s a better offensive lineman. Norwalk threw a high-end D-I athlete at him and tried other options. He held his ground with a quick setup, strong foundation and smooth feet in pass protection. There’s also a lot of physicality, which shows up even more in run blocking. Mensah moves well with an ability to reach blocks in space and while in motion. He should be receiving more attention from colleges.

played almost every snap for the Little Hawks on Friday night. Not only did he hold down the right side of the OL, but he played nose tackle on defense, too. With the physical makeup of a Power 4 prospect, Mensah is Mitch Moore’s best offensive linemen, and he held his own defensively, as well, swatting one of Iowa City West’s few passing attempts to the ground before it even got past the DL.

A huge body that will move from left guard to right tackle this season, Mensah is an imposing presence on City High’s OL. Though moving positions won’t exactly be an easy task for the No. 4 OL in the class of 2027, Mensah’s physical tools — length, size and quick feet — will make the transition much easier. As his confidence grows, he’ll be more and more impactful up front.
With his size, Mensah has a chance to shoot up the rankings this season, and if he can put it all together, could be a coveted prospect.

. The pair opens plenty of holes for the potent rushing attack and prevents quarterback pressure. For his part, Mensah continues developing as his sophomore season progresses. He’s figuring out how to maximize his size with improved technique. Mensah is quick and powerful with smooth feet and violent hands. With two more years to go in his prep career and plenty of room to grow his game, Mensah is definitely one on which to keep an eye.

. Preston is a player who clearly passes the measurables test with great size at 6’3″ and 260 pounds. I wish we had more access to his game film so we can get a better look on how the big man moves on the field. Regardless, with the state’s reputation for developing high-level offensive linemen, I wouldn’t be surprised if Preston ends up highly-coveted.
