We were the first to note Nate Stokes’ talents after a visit to school. The 6-foot-0, 180-pound Warren Central Class of 2028 tailback is a great contributor on both sides of the ball. He is a strong tailback with good contact balance and the ability to turn the corner, get out in space and break away from defenses if he finds a crease. Stokes picked up his first offer from Bowling Green; expect more to come his way from the Class of 2028 prospect the Warriors are excited about.
Warren Central is stacked with underclassmen talent, and starting athlete Nathan Stokes is a big reason why. The Class of 2028 tailback has great speed and explosiveness. He flies to the football no matter where he plays; as a kickoff coverage man he takes great pursuit angles and wraps up, and can deliver heavy hits. He does a great job of chasing down ballcarriers who break free in space and bringing them down. With two years still remaining, the sky is the limit on his potential. Picked up a Bowling Green offer.
Nathan Stokes is a high-upside prospect. When we visited Warren Central a couple of weeks ago, Coach Whitaker mentioned him as a key name to watch. Stokes displays good vision, balance and burst as a running back, and on defense he has great closing speed. He plays with great effort, chasing down running backs who get in space. Stokes is a strong off-tackle runner and has enough juice to be a home-run threat. A breakout junior season will boost his recruiting stock.
Stokes is an intriguing defensive back and running back who got some work on both sides of the ball last year before an injury derailed his season. Either way, his tape shows a player with good instincts and vision. He’s physical and can play near the line and in the back end. He’s a hard-nose runner, and it translates to the offensive side of the ball. He’s someone I think who can pop off next fall when he’s healthy.
Stokes is a bigger framed LB who can cover and if it was live, lay some decent hits. I liked his ability to flip his hips and run as well as come downhill. He didn’t get beat over the top and has the length to swat balls away and keep himself in the play. He was good this weekend and was much better in the 2nd set of games and showed all the traits you want.
