Expert Analysis
Austin Butler | Prep Redzone Scout
Though Spivey is a standout slot receiver for the Wolves, he is of course a standout running back as well. Spivey has for years been a star running back and he has been that for the Rome Wolves thus far also. He has such an amazing ability all-around ability, he can play at both wide out and running back to help his team. He has showcased an ability to make big plays in big moments for his team at both positions and this year, that won’t change. Spivey is going to be a dynamic player at running back as well as wide out for the Wolves in the fall of 2026.

Justin Spivey isn’t just a standout running back and slot receiver, but he is also going to a playmaker at the safety position on defense. He is a spectacular athlete, and you can best believe he will impact the secondary just as well as he does the offensive side of the ball. Look out for the action in the back end of the defense this spring, summer and fall from Spivey!

is also another big threat out wide for the Wolves, he has showcased that time and time again in 2025. So far this spring in the first two days, Spivey looks strong from the running back position where he was a lot of last season along with slot receiver. He has that ability to be a major threat from both of those spots but at the running back position, he has showcased a great deal of what he is capable of and how much he has developed from last season to this off-season. Look for him to have a big spring and fall in 2026.

is a super talented running back and though this article is on receivers, Spivey is also a very dangerous wide out. Spivey is a pure athlete who can showcase his dynamic ability at multiple different spots on the field. He can run off of scrimmage, he can catch the ball out of the backfield, he can split out wide in the slot which he was doing a lot of last season. He is one of the most dynamic wide outs in the 2028 class when lined up outside. Spivey will have a big-time season in 2026.

Spivey was one of the unsung heroes on a loaded Rome offense last fall, and his number should be called even more in 2026. He is a thinner scat-back in the backfield who can be trusted to make plays in space. Whether as a rusher or a receiver, he is twitchy in the short areas and squeezes the most out of each opportunity. Spivey can run routes downhill, so there is plenty of gadget to his game that should stand out to college coaches as he gets older and develops.

, I have known of Spivey since his phenomenon days as a youth running back. I have seen just about all of Spivey’s games during his sophomore season and he is special. He is a talent that was used not only in the backfield but in the slot as well. Spivey was just as dangerous in the slot, catching clutch passes as he was in the backfield running off of scrimmage. He is elusive and shows some strength as well. He is a very versatile piece for his team and though he had a great 2025 season, I look for his 2026 season to be special and even better. Look out for this electric talent!

had a terrific season in 2025 and was one of the most productive offensive players for the Rome Wolves. He showcases a lot of what he can do. He was outstanding out of the backfield, running off of scrimmage, catching the ball out of the backfield and lining up outside at the slot position and posing a big-time threat there to defenses. He is poised to have an incredible junior year in 2026.

has been one of the biggest playmakers on this Rome offense this season. Only a sophomore, Spivey looks as if he has already played a few years ahead of his years. Spivey has been a dynamic player with the ball in his hands in the slot position and in the backfield. In the backfield, Spivey has run the ball off of scrimmage and caught the ball out of the backfield at a consistent rate. He is a play waiting to happen and he gets you chunk yards, he is a breakaway type of player who I expect to have a big role in Friday’s matchup. Big playmaker!

The 5’10 170 rising Sophomore has huge upside potential this Fall. Spivey should get plenty of carries this year for the Rome Wolves, a team with a good reputation for sending RBs to the next level. Outstanding athlete that has the ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball as a Sophomore, rare at the 5A level.
What Stands Out: Agility and instinctive in traffic. A natural football player whose toughness and love of the game is evident on film. Good hands out of the backfield.
Outlook: Break out season for Spivey in ’25.

Another talented young running back in North Georgia, Spivey is a shifty runner who runs well and has the potential to have a really impactful season as a sophomore for the mighty Rome Wolves. He’s a good athlete, shows some wiggle, and if he continues to develop and work on adding more muscle, could turn into one of the top running backs in the area down the road. The potential and natural talent is easy to see and a big reason why he’s now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 9 RB and the No. 50 overall prospect in the state.
