On his way to being the world’s strongest man, seriously, AJ Adams AJ Adams 5'10" | 275 lbs | DL Rome | 2027 GA is a complete beast in the weight room, and it shows on the field. Adams has been killing it in the weight room so far this off-season and this spring, he is showing that he is going to be a force on the defensive line for the Rome Wolves. Adams had a great season last year and, in the playoffs, he really showed up big for the trenches. He is primed for a big year this fall and it’s all starting this spring.

One of the more underrated defensive linemen in the state of Georgia’s 2027 class is AJ Adams. Adams really showed up big in big games especially in the playoffs in 2025. Adams really put on display how affective he can be in the interior of the trenches. He’s a low center of gravity type of guy and has a ton of strength. Adams is a very strong player in the weight room, and it shows on the gridiron. He uses his hands well, feet and is strong is the run game when it comes to stopping the run. He can also pressure and get to the quarterback in a hurry. Adams will be one to watch in 2026.

It’s been a big offseason for Adams, who went home as a top performer at our January showcase in ATL. Now, early in the season, he is following up a state champion shotput season with another hot start, currently ranking as one of the best SP throws in the state at 56′ 11”. If you’re going to play on the DL at 5’10, you’d better compensate by being feisty and strong. He proved that first element at our showcase, and continues to prove the second part both on tape and as a thrower.

Adams is an underrated, productive IDL prospect out of Rome, who was well represented at our showcase. Similar to other MVPs in the group, he is on the shorter side, but his explosiveness and feistiness help him win. There is proof of concept with him as well, as he was an active, unsung hero on the Rome defense as a junior. When the pads are on, he can hold and control the point. He did a great job of answering some questions over the weekend and proving himself.

Out of powerhouse Rome, where they are known for top tier defensive lines, you can bet your bottom dollar that Adams will just pick up where he left off last season. He was a force for the defensive line and in many big games was an anchor. At our Prep Redzone Showcase over the weekend, Adams showcased exactly the things he highlighted during the 2025 season. He is extremely strong; can move great at his size and has a high IQ of the position he plays. He was a standout this past Saturday!
