<p>The first two days of spring football are typically days where teams are just getting in the groove but for Rome, it looks as if they have been practicing a while. The tempo, energy and action look to be high level for the first two days. First, I am going to spotlight the standouts on the offensive side of the ball and skilled guys only for now. Here are some skilled standouts during Rome's spring so far.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Tylan "Scoot" Simpson is heading into the 2026 season as one of the leaders of the receiving core at Rome. Last season he showed up big in big moments especially during their deep playoff run and this spring so far, he has picked up right where he left off. He has showcased during the two days so far that he has not only matured as a player but as a leader of the receivers. Simpson has been very crisp in his routes, hands have been very strong and his speed looks good. He has also looked really impressive at the defensive back position. Simpson isn't new to staring at both wide out and defensive back, he has that great reputation playing both but this year, he could very well see defensive back which would be huge for the Wolves to have him making plays on both ends.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='950178' first='Justin' last='Spivey'] is also another big threat out wide for the Wolves, he has showcased that time and time again in 2025. So far this spring in the first two days, Spivey looks strong from the running back position where he was a lot of last season along with slot receiver. He has that ability to be a major threat from both of those spots but at the running back position, he has showcased a great deal of what he is capable of and how much he has developed from last season to this off-season. Look for him to have a big spring and fall in 2026.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Just like I mentioned last season with Tylan "Scoot" Simpson, I felt like he would break out at some point and he did that. Well, another one I expect to really break out this year and burst onto the scene for the Wolves and in the state of Georgia is Kaiden "KD" Watters. The 2028 wide receiver showed up big in one of the biggest home playoff games last seasons with some amazing plays for his team. He has showcased so far in the spring that he has the ability to stretch a defense and he has the hands to catch the ball anywhere on the field. I believe Watters is going to be a huge asset to this offense in 2026.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2199907' first='Christian' last='Maxwell'] has shown me some things this spring within the first two days, and I really feel like he could become a big asset in the receiving game for this Wolves team. Maxwell has showed that he has the hands, route running ability and energy that could really add to this offense for Rome. I'm curious to see how he continues to work and help this team out. He's one to watch this spring, summer and fall of 2026.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1557863' first='Khaison' last='Beasley'] is one of the wide outs for the Wolves I am excited to see get back to full go and Beasley will be a massive piece to the Rome team in 2026. He has the ability to get behind a defense and has the hands and ability to take it the distance. He is someone who can even play possessional in the receiving game. Beasley is going to be one to watch this spring, summer and of course in the fall. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1555827' first='Jeremy' last='Ferguson Jr.'] is someone who obviously is a playmaker in the passing game just as Spivey is and just the same, he can be extremely productive off of scrimmage in the run game. Ferguson looks to have added some size this off-season, and he looks even more comfortable in his role. Not to say he wasn't last season because he was as comfortable looking as a freshman who started running back in 5A ball as anyone could possibly look. Ferguson Jr. took on a role that most freshman couldn't handle and he handled it and then some. He was spectacular last year and this year he looks more of a confident leader at the position. Obviously, that comes with his excellent experience and production and that I believe will be massive for the Wolves this season. I look for a big-time spring, summer and fall from the dynamic and all-around Ferguson Jr.</p>
