Santa Margarita defensive lineman JJ Hanne JJ Hanne 6'5" | 280 lbs | DL Santa Margarita | 2025 State CA announced his commitment to Georgia on Monday.
Hanne had 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble for Santa Margarita last season.
I like him best as a 3-technique but he can play nose as well and has good short-area speed. He’s a big guy who grew up playing other sports and is effective with his hands.
Hanne chose Georgia over 20 other schools that offered him including Alabama, Oregon and Texas among others. He is the first player from California in Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class and the fifth defensive lineman.

Hanne is one of the top interior pass rushers in the country and enters into our rankings just outside the top-five of his position within the state of California. He is a very snappy 3-tech that can bounce around the interior of the defensive line and offers good position versatility. He is a very technically sound player with a heavy strike, quick lock out and plays violent with his hands against the run. When pass rushing, he is quick off the ball/shows natural band and has an extremely quick use of hands at the point of attack while able to work both primary and secondary rush moves while also flashing closing speed when chasing down plays backside. He has 21 FBS offers currently and is one of the top uncommitted prospects on the western region.
