This kid is absolutely the real deal. It’s hard to make sense of his lack of recruiting attention because he checks every box. He has the arm talent, mobility, athleticism, poise and leadership to be a dude at the next level. My counterpart Alex and I have both graded him out to be a G5 caliber guy at a minimum. Friday night solidified all of my opinions of him. He led Grand Blanc to a 35-10 halftime lead by pushing the ball downfield to all of his weapons. His awareness and poise were on display as he had multiple instances of scrambling around and keeping his eyes downfield for a target and eventually hitting them on the money. Jake finished with a whopping 427 yards and 6 total TDs on just 17 completions. Grand Blanc is a legitimate state title contender, and Morrow is a key part of that. He’s a complete QB that absolutely has the tools to succeed at the next level given the right opportunity.

It still baffles me that Jake doesn’t hold some of the same offers as others in his class, because there isn’t much that they can do that he can’t. Jake is a consistent leader, a proven playmaker and a gunslinger that leads this explosive GB offense. Mechanically, Jake has always been solid. He has a live arm that is extremely accurate anywhere on the field. Pressure doesn’t bother him, as he has shown over and over that when the pocket breaks down, he is able to escape and extend the play, keeping his eyes downfield and delivering great balls. It’s no mistake that Grand Blanc has such a high octane offense, as Morrow is so dynamic and constantly gets the ball to his playmakers. They’ll continue lighting up scoreboards weekly, and I can’t wait to see the Grand Blanc-Davison game in a few weeks!

A very good showing from Jake. I heard coaches talking about some of the other QBs, but I thought Jake was the best at camp. I witnessed a few very high-level throws. One throw- a perfectly placed and hard-thrown ball to a 20-yard crosser / shallow post. I thought that Jake consistently had the tightest spiral, threw the hardest, and throw power didn’t hurt accuracy as much as others.
I only watched a small handful of throws, but those throws were pretty impressive. Jake’s mechanics are also very consistent, and he has better athletic traits than I initially thought. Not sure why Jake doesn’t have more college attention, though it doesn’t seem like a ton of QBs are being offered at this moment.

It’s been a while since I watched Jake in person, and I’m delighted to have gotten a great look at him yesterday.
Unsurprisingly, Jake is a very well put-together QB. Footwork is there. Mechanics are there. Throw power is there. Accuracy is there. A little hard to evaluate IQ, but I’m confident he’s ahead of the curve there. If I had one knock, it would be that Jake sometimes missed slightly high. Though he didn’t miss often, and he missed high WAY more than he missed left, right, or low. Accuracy also didn’t seem to dip when throwing on the run.
Not too fancy of an evaluation, especially when I’ve waited so long to see Jake in person. Jake is a rock-solid player leading a quarterback-friendly offense. Always been the case, but he’s still a GLIAC floor, MAC ceiling guy in my eyes.

Efficiency.
I love the way Jake commands the Grand Blanc offense. This is another pocket passer, and a very efficient one at that. A large number of Jake’s throws are quick reads to the short-intermediate areas of the field. If he’s a college prospect, scouts will probably take issue to the more “simple” passing scheme. In High School, I feel that’s a giant green flag.
Not many High School QBs are great at snap, read, throw within four seconds. Of course, there are points where Jake slips up or holds onto the ball too long, but I expect even more improvement next year. Great player and one of the top guys I want to watch in person again.
