Expert Analysis
Tyler Graham | Prep Redzone Scout
Believe the hype! Dewitt turned heads right away during the testing portion of the camp. He posted the best 40 of anyone in attendance, as well as the best broad jump. He also had the 3rd best L-Drill and 6th best shuttle drill. Just an unbelievable testing portion, and that momentum carried over into the competition time. He was slicing up defenders, putting the ball on the money where it needed to be and thrown with good anticipation. His mechanics were good and his strong arm allowed him to drive the ball downfield with ease. Grand Blanc should feel really good about what they have in Jake heading into the fall!

Jake is taking over as the presumed QB1 at Grand Blanc, after learning under

. Everything that I have seen so far on film from DeWitt shows high upside, so I am pumped to get a look at him in person. I’ll absolutely be watching his mechanics, his timing and will be looking to see what parts of the field are a strength/weakness. If he is able to hit every part of the field and show the upside I am expecting, he will undoubtedly be in the conversation for QB MVP.

- Inherits an extremely QB-friendly offense with plenty of weapons and a good offensive line
- Legit arm with a lot of juice behind it. Able to push the ball downfield with ease.
- Has been working on his craft for a while now. Should slot into the Varsity role with relative ease.
- A plus athlete who can run when his number is called.
- Has worked a ton on his footwork, throwing motion, and all-around consistency. Hard to imagine Jake not performing well.

. He has gotten to see Morrow operate, and should have a good idea of what the expectation is. He has a quick trigger and good arm strength. He has no issue getting out of the pocket and creating, as well as standing tough in the pocket and delivering strikes. He trains with some of the best QBs in the area and has a chance of developing into the next great SVL quarterback.

Next up for Grand Blanc!
Jake has the potential to put up amazing numbers in Grand Blanc’s pass-heavy offense. Last offseason, I got to briefly watch Jake at a workout, and I was impressed by his throwing motion, velocity, and accuracy. He looked like a solid young QB who was well on track to become a great varsity starter.
His JV highlights show flashes. Many quick, accurate passes over the middle of the field, perfectly catching his receiver in stride. Plus, Jake displays a good number of improvised throws outside of the pocket. In order to be efficient on Varsity, Jake needs to have more consistent mechanics, especially when throwing off-schedule.
