Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Not to he confused with the player of the same name in the same grade at PCM, Johnston’s Houser is a taller version of his namesake to the east. The Dragon junior caught 13 balls for 109 yards and a touchdown. He added a pancake block and a solo tackle. It’s an impressive set of skills when watching his 11th-grade highlight video. A high-end athlete as evidenced by his playing for Iowa United on the club basketball circuit, Houser often lines up as an H-Back, hauling in short throws and turning them quickly up the field. He reaches top speed quickly and makes defenders miss in space. Houser runs crisp routes, can block in the run game and looks like a matchup problem overall. His frame is such that it can add plenty of good weight in a college strength and conditioning program. That could lead to him working more in-line as well as or instead of starting in the H-Back spot.
