is worth a spot on a Division I roster. Playing with a mixture of agility and violence out of the backfield for Johnston, Jones is a decisive runner that takes advantage of the holes cultivated by his offensive line, and he creates plays for himself.
This fall, he took 182 carries for 811 yards and 11 touchdowns. Through the air, he caught 14 passes for 151 yards and a score. He’ll be one of his quarterback’s primary targets next season as the Dragons do their best to make it to Cedar Falls.

is more of an every down tail back. A smooth back that’s tough to bring down as he’s lower to the ground, Jones is a thick, strong running back that fights through arm tackles.
Seemingly in and out of the game because of health, Jones would have likely had more of an impact on the game Friday if he was at 100%. So far this season, Jones has led the Dragons in rushing, taking 172 carries for 757 yards and 11 scores. A runner with some pop behind his pads, Jones is quick in his cuts and doesn’t go down easily.

Jones shows us during his sophomore highlight video his natural feel for running the ball. That’s a great foundation at the position. While not the biggest back, Jones has a knack for maneuvering through traffic in the middle of the line and maximizing available yards. He makes people tackle properly to get him down by keeping his legs moving and finishing runs. Jones changes direction and speeds well. He can be a threat as receiver, too. Jones rushed for 522 yards (4.9 YPC) and seven touchdowns as a sophomore in ’24. He added three catches for 45 yards and returned a kick 23 yards.
