is a young offensive tackle prospect that already boasts all the right traits for the position at the next level.
He holds a good 6-foot-6 and 284 pound frame with long arms, making him easy to point out as a future college prospect even as a freshman in high school.
Despite having the frame of a college offensive tackle already, he does not sacrifice the athleticism to mirror pass rushers or pull into space, two things that have been utilized in his football career so far.
He will need to continue to add more strength to his frame and refine his skillset as is the case with any young offensive line talent, but the potential is clearly there for the rising sophomore.

is an offensive tackle with strong length for his age, already looking like a tackle, at least with his height, before the game even starts.
He is a mobile tackle and has experience working in space, which shows when he works to the second level and identifies his block quickly.
As is the case with any young tackle, he is just in the early stages of his development, but the baseline tools of length, mobility, and IQ are there to make for an intriguing prospect down the road.

You can look as hard as you’d like, but you’re not going to find too many 6-foot-6, 265-pound incoming high school freshmen like

. The big man was a can’t-miss on film last season as he played for the West Youth Football organization in the MAC and he’ll take that size to Knoxville West High School. Thornburg is like building a new house: The foundation is set, the walls are up and it looks great. When he gets all the little things ready, the house will be move-in ready for the next level.

, an offensive lineman at Knox. West Middle School. Thornburg caught my attention at the line of scrimmage with his size and strength, making the most of his reps. I liked how Thornburg could utilize his arms to push back against his opponent during one-on-one drills.

The tallest lineman on Team Fire, Thornburg was an obvious choice as the (assumed) starter at Left Tackle for the squad. After seeing him for the first time this past June as a member of the Tennessee Future Stars, fast forward five months to this game and he continues to be a 2029 Offensive Lineman to know in Tennessee. He looks to be every bit of the 6-foot-4 and 245-pounds he’s listed at, and I’d argue he may be just a little bit heavier than that. The areas of improvement remain the same from the summer in terms of overall strength, flexibility and functional mobility. That said, when he gets set and gets his impressive size working for him, he’s one of the top pass blockers in the state on this level. With his long arms, he’s able to keep Defensive Ends and Edge rushers at bay. I don’t see him as a Left Tackle right away on the high school level, but he has all the physical tools to eventually get there. Be a little patient, but the upside is huge.

this past June, when he was a member of the Tennessee Future Stars 7th grade team. Despite a loss to the Kentucky Future Stars in that game, I was impressed with Thornburg.
- Thornburg was the starter at Left O-Tackle this season for West and did a great job of using all of the 6-foot-4 and 245-pounds he’s listed at to open holes for his teammates. While he also played some Nose/Defensive Tackle, he seems destined to play on the offensive line.
- Being as big he is this young, there is still some “baby deer” in him when he’s moving around. The moor coordinated he becomes with his feet, and the smoother he begins to move as an athlete, he’ll become even more dominant as a true O-Tackle. The best is yet to come here.
