Another LCA wide receiver that stood out to me this season was Evan Brown Evan Brown 6'0" | 160 lbs | ATH Lexington Christian | 2023 State KY . Although Brown caught my attention initially as a defensive back this season, he made a huge impact on the offensive side of the ball this year. Brown had an outstanding senior season, catching 60 passes for 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns. He is a very dangerous deep threat, using his speed to run by opposing defensive backs. Brown also does a great job of looking in passes over his shoulder and catching the ball without breaking stride.  Brown is also a good route runner and has the ability to take short passes for a big gain or touchdown at any given moment. He also proved to be a dangerous weapon on special teams, returning two punts for touchdowns this season. Evan currently holds an offer from Campbellsville but I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play on either side of the ball at the next level.

While we have him listed as a defensive back, he makes a huge impact on both sides of the ball. Brown shined the brightest on offense at receiver on Friday, catching 12 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown. He was a huge threat in the deep passing game, using his speed to create separation from his defender. Brown was able to catch passes in stride and run away from the defense after the catch. He also showed impressive route running skills with quick breaks and the ability to change direction without breaking stride which helped him keep his defender on their toes and create early separation. Evan currently holds an offer from Campbellsville but I wouldn’t be surprised to see more come as he has the talent to play on either side of the ball at the college level.

However, he shined the brightest on the offensive side of the ball on Friday. Brown lined up on the outside at receiver and showed the speed to run by defenders in the deep passing game, opening up the second half on a long touchdown pass from Boley. He also showed the speed and elusiveness to pick up big plays after the catch when he got the ball in the open field. Brown continued to impress at corner, showing the ability to open up and run with receivers in man coverage. He also showed the ability to read the receiver and react at the right moment to make plays on the ball. Brown currently holds an offer from Campbellsville University but more offers should come as he has the ability to be a very good player on either side of the ball at the next level.
