Two-way star who was been a gigantic reason why Brother Rice is experiencing this late-season run of success.
If you’ve been to a Brother Rice game, you’ll probably know Deondre as a running back first and foremost. He’s excellent in that role, and I think he’s taken a giant leap in production as the season has progressed.
He’s also a pretty effective off-ball linebacker. It’s near impossible to teach physicality and effort, and Deondre checks those boxes. Just like RB, he’s improving week by week as a linebacker. Getting better at reading opposing offenses, and generally reacting and attacking quicker. St. Mary’s is a porgram that Brother Rice knows quite well, and I’d expect Deondre to have a big game defensively, as well as offensively.

Deondre had some really nice runs in this one, especially on the outside. He loves to bounce out and turn on the jets to turn the corner. Between the tackles, he can be a bruiser that fights for extra yardage and wears on a defense. Some of his best runs were ones where it seemed like he was stacked up, and he was able to bounce to the next gap and hit it full speed. He was also a solid blocker for his QB, which is a huge plus. I love his trajectory, I think he will be a problem for years to come.

Another extremely talented, high-upside prospect at Brother Rice. Like the other top talent, Deondre is built extremely well.
Hill did well on both sides of the ball. At running back, it was tough sledding against an elite front 7. Still, I liked his burst, and he tried to lower his shoulder on multiple occasions. I also liked how Deondre always seemed to get upfield at the perfect time. It was tough against the CC defense, and the rushing stats probably won’t look great, but I absolutely see the upside at RB.
Defensively, Deondre did a solid job. He’s a physical player, and was not afraid to get his nose dirty. Though I thought there were several plays where Deondre reacted a tad late. Quick reaction and full-speed play would explode his defensive efficiency.
Lastly, Deondre is an extremely passionate football player. Extremely competitive, lots of emotion, and I really like that about him. Learn to always channel that emotion in a positive way, and Deondre will be an even scarier player to play against.
He’s got all the physical tools. Just needs more all-around polish.

, and I’m excited to see his growth over this offseason.
As a linebacker, Deondre plays fast and rarely hesitates. Plenty of instances where Deondre blows past a would-be block and wraps up the ballcarrier near the line of scrimmage. I will say- I would love to see better physicality. Too many instances where Deondre seems to hold back.
At running back, Drew shows some flashes of good, physical running. He was about average in terms of speed and vision, though.
Lastly, a lot of his upside is aided by his size. Deondre is bigger and stronger than the vast majority of Class of 2028 prospects.

over the past few months. From ‘Prep Redzone Next’ to other coaches, I know that Deondre is one of the highest-upside young prospects in Michigan.
His tape against Roseville is promising.
- Tough runner
- Great power
- High volume of carries
- Should work on vision & contact balance
- Just needs more experience as a RB
- Looking forward to seeing some defensive tape

for a long time. Spoiler alert: I am too
He had a VERY productive pre-high school career, sporting extremely high honors even as a 7th grader. He’s best described as a pure sideline-to-sideline physical linebacker. Prep Redzone Next has compared him to Micah Parsons, but I think he’s a bit more comparable to Devin Bush when he played at Michigan (but much taller than Bush).
I fully expect Deondre to quickly make his name known on Varsity. I also fully expect him to be a prime B1G 10 / SEC prospect.

Stats: 4 att for 11 yds, 1 rec for 15 yds
Highlight: 15 yard reception
Hill is listed as a linebacker but performed double duties. When in the backfield he was a big body to keep the QB upright and fight for those touch short yards. He did just that for the most part. Most notable was his third down catch for a much need first down due to a facemask call. His physically was also obvious attacking gaps like he’s filling on a run read.

Hill was someone that kind of came out of no where on day 2 of practice and really impressed me with his ability to move so well at his size. He’s a linebacker but can move like a safety in the he’s able to pick up speed quick and change directions with ease. Standing at 6’3 185 Hill has D1 written all over him as he plans to play at Harper Woods in the fall.
- Big and fast
- also good RB
- can do some real damage to any ball carrier
- extremely strong and powerful
- considered the top LB in 2028

– Played on 14U Old Town Ducks at AYF Nationals this year and led team to tournament finals from both the RB and LB positions.
– Played in this game last year as a seventh-grader and is back again. He’s that level of dominant.
– Bottom line: He’s a sideline-to-sideline player. Big, long, fast. Best comparison NFL comparison (which I don’t typically like doing) is Micah Parsons.

– Grown man. That’s the only way to describe the way Hill plays on both sides of the ball. In a recent scrimmage Hill scored eight touchdowns as a running back and that’s not even his main position
– At nearly 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, he’s an explosive athlete that is on a seek-and-destroy mission with every snap. Lines up primarily as a middle linebacker, but is athletic enough to play nearly anywhere on the field. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him end up playing anywhere from defensive end to strong safety
– Hill is a very gifted prospect and the best two comparisons I can come up with is Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys and NFL Hall of Famer, Lawrence Taylor. Parsons was a defensive end in high school and through the years has transitioned to a stand up outside linebacker. Hill, Parsons and Taylor are all 6-foot-3 and all play/played the game very physically
