Marcus made plays all night on Friday, but nothing topped the impressive pick 6 that ended up being the difference in the game.

He read the play perfectly and broke on the ball just as the QB committed to try and throw his way. He used that incredible change of direction and acceleration to jump the route and take it to the house and gave his squad a huge boost.

Another elite underclassman getting meaningful reps for this Rice team and he’s making the most of it.

I watched #16 quite a bit, especially during DLS’s first two offensive drives. Playing soft coverage, I didn’t get an amazing look at his cover abilities, especially since DLS opted for short, high percentage passes early on.

Though, as Marcus’ receiver got short, quick opportunities, Marcus was extremely quick to make a quick tackle. It seemed like the moment a nearby receiver got his hands on a ball, Marcus was already right there to make a tackle. A couple of excellent solo tackles, limiting any RAC from quick outs/comebacks. Extremely quick to the football and a physical player. Not to mention that Marcus is way ahead of the curve regarding strength.

I’m pretty surprised to see zero offers on Marcus’ Twitter. Right now, I would recommend D1 programs do their homework. I need to get a little more well-rounded eval, but I love what I see so far.

Marcus showed some nice flashes. Absolutely ahead of the curve athletically, but not quite as elite as a couple of campers.

For a 2029 prospect, Marcus has great ball skills, far above average athletic ability, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s already 5’10”. A year or two of development should turn Marcus into a phenomenal player in the catholic league.
